I didn't even realize that there WAS a FA edition of this, I've been lately only quickly checking the steelbook section so I thought this was just the Zavvi thread... GB here I come ;)

it's not the greatest of movie but I did enjoy it. It is not for everybody, it's a hand held camera type of movie would say it's a B type of movie, I enjoyed it. and the steelbook FullSlip is really awesome they really took the feel of the movie with the pictures they used(extras) and steel itself ifs very nice, love picture back artwork of FullSlip, Scary ! it's a Gem of a package :bag:
I see, but yea, still need to find a copy that though :watch:

Interested in the GB for this upcoming FA release of T3... Coming from a 'newbie' to the HDN forum and someone who has never entered a 'group buy' before, I just need a bit of clarification.

Once signed up for a GB and an invoice is sent by @carllenc including all the accumulated costs, do PayPal then charge a fee for the conversion rate from GBP to CZK (Czech Koruna)?

Many thanks for anyone's help :)

Many thanks @Apollon for your swift response. Taking everything into consideration, I'm trying to work out if it's definitely cheaper to enter this group buy or whether I should just purchase direct with FA? I'm only after the 1 copy and have purchased direct with FA before but never entered a HDN 'group buy'.

As I don't fully understand the process of a GB, could you or anyone with previous experience describe any of the advantages/disadvantages of using a group buy that could help in my decision making?

Many thanks and all the best!

Buying a regular release is not a problem from FA. Numbered exclusives on the other hand is almost impossible if you do not have a low collectible number ( has to be requested in your account )with them. Most of their exclusives have sold out and listings never went live for the general public. Your best bet is to secure one via the GB. Usually a week or two before the release, invoices will be sent with clear instructions and a deadline. The benefit of the GB is that the GB host is very personable and often combine shipments if you have entered multiple group buys for FA exclusives saving you money's. Also you get collector grade packaging to ensure your products arrive in the intended state

Many thanks @frankfish44 for your detailed post  Previously, I've managed to secure orders placed directly with FA for the upcoming releases of Terminator, Kingsman Secret Service and John Wick. All ordered via FA's 'classic sale' for the general public.

Are you saying this will be highly unlikely with this specific title this time around?

I am not saying it is unlikely. I do believe some titles like Elektra never made it that far. You kind of have to take a gamble from one release to the next

True, that is mostly related to the low print numbers (Elektra was 301), whiplash is the same as i don't think it will go public as well (print run 501). From what i understand, the john wick devil edition is now also gone (edition size 1001). Terminator 1 was around for a bit (edition size 1500). @frankfish44 is totally right that it is a bit of a gamble depending on the popularity of the realse along with the print run. If you "have to" have an edition, a GB is a way to essentially guarantee you a copy @Mickle_89

Again, thank you to @unamused1 for a great reply post! You've all been most helpful

The GB seems the way to go so far to ensure I receive a copy. One last question however... with there being no price set, will it definitely be slightly cheaper to join the GB or is that also a gamble too as it may turn out to be cheaper to buy direct with FA?

I'm a UK buyer - I think the total cost for example with the FA 'Terminator' release was around the £25 mark including delivery.

@Mickle_89, there are never any guarantees in life. However all factors in (shipping, VAT, HDN fees, paypal fees) i've never seen a large discrepancy between a direct order and a FA GB. So it's certainly not like you would save half the cost by buying direct. My question is what is "guaranteeing" a copy on a GB worth? Even if it turned out to be a few dollars more on the GB (which i'm not saying it is) to me it's worth paying to get that edition that i want instead of hoping to save a few bucks and miss out because it sold out. At that point in time you will wish you paid the extra few dollars to secure your copy when now your options are buying it on the open market for likely double initial list value. Food for thought.

I'm in the U.S., and I ordered from @carllenc's GB and the grand total with shipping was 965Czk which is 25.21 pounds, and I think his shipping to Europe is slightly cheaper. I'm too impatient to do this, but you can ask him to combine shipping for up to 4 steels and that saves even more money.

I order through the GB even though I have a collectible number because I like ordering early to secure my copy and I like knowing who I'm dealing with. I've emailed with the FA customer service and they are very helpful and easy to work with but there's something about buying from a fellow collector and member of the community that I enjoy. Plus Karel keeps us so well informed. He even posts pictures of his car stuffed with the GB steels.

And for the cherry on top by going through the GB you're supporting HDN and what could be better than that??:):):)
