Not reading any reviews but still undecided if this is worth an opening night viewing. I hate to let this taint my memories of the opening night viewing of T2 back in the day.

Went and saw an advanced screening of Terminator Genisys last night and thought it was heaps of fun.
I hope everyone gives it a chance because the film does a good job of paying respect to T1 and T2, and sort of emulating the tone of those two films, but also having a story of it's own.
Our cinema was about 70% filled so I don't think the audience trusted the film from the beginning, but as soon as Arnie came on the screen, you could feel everyone connect with what was going on. There were a couple of cheers, and the jokes landed successfully.
Arnie was amazing!
I'll be interested to know what everyone thinks of the story. There was a sense of 'Looper' to the time-travel. In Looper, Rian Johnson covers the paradox by not making it an issue. But T5 does try to address the timelines, which could be a problem for some people.
Also, on a side note. How do people think this compares with Jurassic World? I liked Jurassic World, but thought the story was a lot weaker than T5. I don't remember much of the characters or the story of JW, and I only saw it 2 days ago lol. Plus (as a male), it's great to see a kick-ass female lead. Especially after JW didn't do any favors on that count.
