happy days.

on a sad and miserable day for news in general, for some happier vibes, it's Coen's Day in my household, as this has arrived on the same day as
O Brother Where Art Thou? that is a better steel, but to join the conversation above, having given both a test, this has for me the slightly better picture quality (not to say
O Brother's is poor), and is stacked with extras.
i know why people are struggling with its gloss-ness. it is shiny, but the image has a deliberate, almost hazy patina on it, so it's like having a gloss effect on an image that doesn't 100% suit gloss. to be honest, i thought it was fairly gloss before i read the above, and now i have no idea what i think.

it's certainly not matt, though.
few more shots of the steelbook:
and i did take a shot of the j-card, but screwed it up royally. soz. for those of you who can be bothered to squint, check beneath the spoiler -
edit: tried again, still not great, but better/replaced -
worth a shot? if like me you didn't have this on blu ray, absolutely. maybe one day we'll get a shiny, super-glossy premium, but this will certainly do for now.

until then keep on shining...
