Hmmm the plop might be coming from a diff thinner plastic inside.... I could take 2 steelbooks apart and try with my Black Ops 2 and see if its the plastic inside that they've gone thinner on. Think I will try this in a few and see what this mad steel scientist can find out.

Flipper discs. OMFG.

It has been so long that I'd forgotten what they are called - those darn flipper discs are back! :(

The economics of this simply do not make sense to me unless the plastic insert with two disc hubs costs more than with one. But still...need to support embossed US steelbooks!

You're right Wreck, everyone assumes its the metal. It may well be the plastic frame that is the issue.
Fortunately I have a spare set of UK discs so will swap with those horrid flippers.

How come the give you a bat sticker with it?:hilarious:

You should see what else they gave me besides that "sticker" :naughty::naughty: Actually that is my little special find from a fellow who made it by hand (you can see the bat ears are not even).

These and the upcoming steelbook releases from Target, Best Buy and Walmart are the best thing to happen to US steelbooks! US collectors, let's support them as much as we can especially at this price point for catalog titles.

I want to support the US steelbook cause but I can't get my hands on these steelbooks after going to three stores. Hopefully they will be out tomorrow but even with that I think it will be YMMV.

I know the FS ones are not released yet, but are these likely to be exactly the same (same quality etc)?

For $11 a piece, I'll be up for these if someone fancies doing a GB. I'm sure others will be interested too, especially UK members. :)

The print quality on this is not so great.

But, for $11, it's a no brainer to buy. I would have been pissed if I paid over $15 for this quality.

I picked up bourne identity and ultimatum this morning. The other wasn't available, neither store had them on display I had to ask. I didn't ask the first store as I didn't have time but the second store I went ahead.

On the phone with the first store now, they say they have 7. I guess they were in the back. So I'll be heading back there after work.

Not a bad looking steelbook, embossed with interior art. Who cares if there flippers. Saves room with the oh soo generic view of the interior art heh

These are not of the best quality but at $11 a pop I could not pass them up especially since they came with a digital copy (I have found I love digital copies more than anything else as I can watch them from my iphone, ipad or laptop) and I seem to watch more movies as digital copies than anything else.

So i picked up all 3.

I always throw away the digital copy.....lol

Need to see them on a big screen in full 7.1 surround with the sub base blowing your trousers off.

:hilarious:
