I am, got Se7en & Inception ordered. first time ordering from Japan so prepared to get hit by customs, really want the steels though so what else can you do?

exactly. If you really want the steels you will have to pay.

I have Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Seven, Matrix and Inception on order myself.

I don't know about the US or Canada, but in the UK you will definitely be hit by HM Customs. That's because Amazon.co.jp ship by DHL who submit every commercial package for customs charging.

And when they charge you, they charge 20% tax + duty on the value of the shipping as well as the goods - and then add deferment and clearance fees on top.

I've never ordered more than 2 discs at a time from Japan, but every time the customs charges on 2 discs comes to £15-20. I have 5 of the new wave on order, so I'm guessing that charges will come to around £40-50. Sucks but that's the reality of ordering from Amazon Japan.

Sorry to hear that Rob. Thanks for sharing the info in case other UK members are not aware.

Luckily for folks in the US we don't have to worry about import duty.

Its typically reserved for people that get packages delivered by independent express mail couriers or very high volume orders.

:D

I really hope that amazon.jp gets more exclusives. They are always the best steels to come out quality wise. IMO they are gonna get very expensive in trading circles in time.

Chip do you think this Jp wave will be limited and therefore sought after ? I've hopefully got 4 coming but may get more in.

Thanks

I am not chip and am not answering for him but I do know this and all Japanese Amazon exclusive steelbooks are limited. This latest wave is highly sought after all around the world. There are many speculations why this wave was delayed 2 months and I won't repeat them here. I will say if you can afford it you should get extras for trading. Many members here will appreciate it.

It might take a while to sell out as people cant order 10 of each item like other places. But once it does sell out it will be hard to find as it will be indivual collectors who own the stock and not resellers.

This upcoming wave surprised me in their retail MSRP (2980 yen compared to 5000 yen) and their number of titles in the wave. Perhaps the cost has something to do with the age of the titles and availability of some of them in other countries.

It's A$32.00 outrageous postage cost !!!

Not really - that's express mail cost. It'll arrive to your location in a day or so.

It's disappointing that they don't have a different option for a slower & cheaper service, but each amazon site is run differently.

Ross, one thing you'll need to be prepared for is a high Customs charge. There is always VAT to pay and if you have too much then you can find yourself with Excise Duty to pay as well.

Do you know if Amazon JP accepts foreigns credic cards and they send normally to South America?
What'd U mean foreign CC??, they accept all type of standard CCs: Visa/Mastercard etc and I'm sure they will be able to ship it anywhere in the world, give a try and see.
