Ok I just created a new login for Amazon.jp but when trying to setup my shipping address it asks for a Prefecture and postal code that doesn't allow for more than three digits. Can someone that's setup an account there help me with what I should do. Thanks.
EDIT: NVM I figured it out.
Holy ****! Shipping is almost as much as the SB itself.
Item: ¥ 2,554
Shipping fees: ¥ 2,000
Flight International Express (2-5 days) which is the only shipping provided.
4,554.00 JPY = 58.3943 USD
For five SB the same price plus shipping.
Items: ¥ 12,770
Shipping & Handling: ¥ 3,200
Order Total: ¥ 15,970
15,970.00 JPY = 204.778 USD
Still expensive but not as bad as if you were to order only one. I think I'll wait and order five.

Add the customs fees to that amount brother. These $204 will probably turn out into $300 or something![]()

Yes, I almost forgot. Thank you. It looks like I'll have to wait on these new releases coming out for now. :tear:I have never had a package from amazon.jp get hit with customs fees. I have only had one package from Italy in my entire steelbook collecting get hit with fees.

@ apsmith21: since I see you've done orders from amazon.jp any chance you remember when they charge your credit card? I pre-ordered few titles as well and would like to know when they charge so I can put some funds into my account.....Cheers
You just ordering a few from amazon.co.jp? You'll probably escape without much trouble. If anything, Fed Ex likes to charge you a processing fee...let's say $20 or so. The actual duty paid to the USA is something like $5...
BUT, if you're ordering maybe 3-4 steelbooks (less than 10) you probably won't get hit at all.
That's good to know. I was actually planning on ordering The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Blade Runner, The Matrix and Se7en.

I think you should be fine. Just so you know, if it does get hit, you'll get a bill from FedEx about a week after you get the package.
You can opt not to pay it, but just remember that if you order again someday, they'll hold your next package until you pay the previous bill.
With these orders, the actual duty you would pay is soooooo small that most express carriers don't mess with it. I think sometimes it's just an excuse for Fed Ex and UPS to collect their own processing fees (I've had worse luck with UPS).
It's unbelievably fast tho - they ship and in about a day and a half you get your steelies.![]()
I've never gotten anything that had customs fees and I thought that if I ever did that I would have to pay when I got the package. Being billed for it seems a whole lot better. That's good to know for future reference. Thanks.
Seriously? that's not what I've been told. I've been told the customs fees are very very high, especially for people like me in Canada.
Biscuit, that's because you are in Canada.
Send to a US friend and we'll make sure you escape those fees.![]()
We hardly ever get charged for personal purchases. (Most people don't see anything at all - it's just group buy guys like me that even talk about it most times - or serious resellers.)

Guys, I believe Amazon.JP has switched to DHL for their international deliveries, hopefully for good. I am in WA and the 3 orders in the past 2 months were delivered by DHL with signature required. And I have yet to pay customs fees (don't jinx it ash!) I think that is why the shipping charge from JP is higher than the rest. And they were also the first of the Amazon sites to use that new cardboard packaging for steelbooks, at least based on what I have read here and from my personal experience.

Time to contact my friends in the US and/or look at the trading section and see people's wishlists, I could work something out for sure![]()
