From IMDB:

Old info:
The fact that there will be another Batman film in Christopher Nolan’s presumptive trilogy is assumed by just about everyone, despite the fact that there has been no formal announcement of the film. But in the runup to the release of Nolan’s Inception, which opens on July 16, there is already some talk about what the next Batman film might look like.

Wally Pfister is the cinematographer responsible for all of Christopher Nolan’s features from Memento on, and his photography was one of the things I liked best about The Dark Knight. He captured Chicago-as-Gotham with a simplicity and clarity that was very uncharacteristic of most superhero films. Now he’s talking about possibilities for the third film, including the option of 3D. Hint: don’t expect Batman 3D.

Cinematical spoke to Pfister when the Dallas Film Society presented him with the Star Award for accomplishments in cinematography. The site promises a full interview in which Pfister explains the “mutual disinterest” he and Christopher Nolan have for 3D. But they do quote him saying,
What Chris and I have talked about is doing something cool and something interesting…Brad Bird was [saying] ‘you’ve got to shoot the whole thing in IMAX!’ I was like, yeah, I’ve talked to Chris about that.

There’s also another comment, which seems to refer to shooting more of this upcoming film in IMAX:

But I think Chris is game for doing something interesting like that, Lord knows that the 3-D fad might pass by the time that summer comes around.

AICN, meanwhile, got a few more of Pfister’s comments from a tipster. Both the cinematographer and Nolan are disinterested in digital cinematography and very much prefer to shoot on film. That’s the root of their disinterest in 3D, which Pfister said is “great for like amusement park rides like the ‘Honey I Shrunk The Kids’ ride at Disneyland.” Pfister also called 3D a distraction and not realistic.

The appeal of IMAX and the disinterest in 3D both come from that love of shooting on film. While 3D lacks realism, shooting in IMAX has huge latitude, and captures incredible detail. The downside to IMAX is that the cameras are bulky and loud, and the format is expensive.

FYI, Batman on Film is saying that Warner Bros. will officially announce the third Batman film in July. Which isn’t that much of a deductive leap, as Nolan hasn’t been interested in talking about Batman while he finishes Inception, and that movie is released in July. Plus, there’s that little Comic Con gathering in San Diego. So expect more news in July.

Per Screen Rant, the first teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, may be played before Harry Potter 7.2:

The first theatrical teaser trailer for The Dark Knight came attached to The Simpsons Movie back in the summer of 2007, a full year before the Batman Begins sequel opened to break world records. That teaser contained no footage from the actual film, just the logo and voiceovers of some of the main characters.

With Warner Bros. launching what could be the biggest film of the year in the eighth and final Harry Potter in July, it would be silly for them not do something similar for their biggest film of 2012, right? Rumors say that’s exactly what they’re doing for The Dark Knight Rises.

The always unreliable IMDB gave rise to a buzzworthy message from a user claiming to work at a theater where he saw the trailer list for what teasers will be attached to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 2. According to this source, Batman 3 will be one of them.

“I am a manager of a cinema. Today we got a list of upcoming trailers delivered to us and the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ teaser is listed to be with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 on July 15th.”

Supporting the rumor, another forum user posted something similar on SuperHeroHype who heard from his “buddy,” another cinema employee, that the very first The Dark Knight Rises teaser would be at their theater as well on July 15th.

“Updated listings at Regal have TDKR teaser attached to Harry Potter. I dont have a link my buddy that works there texted me about it. Having worked at a Regal for 6 years there listings are usually pretty accurate not 100% but pretty close. Its not much but it does help confirm what people have been guessing on here for awhile”

While random online postings from unverified sources are meaningless, the idea behind what they claim is sound. The studio isn’t shy in marketing The Dark Knight Rises early with them already releasing the first image of Tom Hardy as Bane last week. And we know that come Comic-Con in late July, a week after Harry Potter 7 hits theaters, they’ll have a lot more to show.

Anne Hathaway??

Seriously Christopher I don't want to prejudge but she makes as much sense as casting Katie Holmes

Matthew Modine's 'Batman' role detailed

Matthew Modine's role in The Dark Knight Rises has apparently been detailed.

According to Showbiz 411, the Full Metal Jacket actor is portraying "a politician and a key villain" named Nixon.

Modine joined the project earlier this month, along with Oscar nominee Tom Conti. The report went on to say that he will film his scenes during the movie's London shoot.

The Dark Knight Rises will serve as the final chapter in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It sees Christian Bale reprise his role as the Caped Crusader as the character takes on Tom Hardy's Bane and - as has been widely rumored - The League of Shadows.

Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard will also appear in the film alongside returning cast members Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman.

The Dark Knight Rises arrives in US and UK cinemas on July 20, 2012.

I have one but it's not a very good one. Just did it quickly myself:

Does Nolan has a fixation over buildings?, poster does not give anything new agree with dboy99 F
I was kind of hoping the design will be similar to TDK or Inception but that's just me...I like the feel of it.....I'm sure there will be some more posters coming...character ones maybe...

You know damn well you are going to be there opening weekend regardless of what the trailer shows you. For all you know the trailer will only be a teaser like that of TDK with just voice overs lol.

As for the poster I think this is just a teaser poster and more will follow, remember the movie is still almost a year away. How many movies give you more a year away from release? ;)

You mean the same object being either Superman or Joker?

I can see the Superman logo there but can't see any Joker......

I didn't even looked closer....To be its just a falling rock :)

On another note the teaser trailer was already shown at various cinemas before Harry Potter as promised...it was even recorded by a camera/phone but it was really dark and quality wasn't that good....not really watchable......Most of copies were taken off the web by WB but few staid, one here http://www.prettymuchit.com/post/7575941924/the-dark-knight-rises-teaser-trailer-leak-we

PS: Can't wait for the HD quality, wanna see Bane!!!
