do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

This guy is a scammer.

I was going through his previous purchases and you can see on 19/12/12 he purchased another FS Avengers.

I believe he is trying to do me out of his damaged copy.

Mate, that is the lowest of the low.

The chances of a dented steelbook with your packaging is between 0-1%.

I take it you took photos during the packing process, not that can obviously prevent any "claimed" damage?

Unfortunately buyers are wide open to this regardless of whatever steps or precautions are taken.

ive just had a prob on ebay , partly my own fault . I sold a steelbook to someone from the states on ebay , he paid for international signed for and after 3 weeks he said the item did not arrive , I tried looking for a receipt but could not find it so I made a note of his usa address and took it to the local post office and to my mistake id posted normal delivery instead of signed for , my mistake I know but ive got a feeling he has received it and seen no tracking and has pulled a fast one , ive since paid him back but I don't want to name him because im awaiting feedback and ive still got 100% . if this is the case I don't understand how people can do this.

Yep. I had a guy who claimed I sent a defective Avengers. He sent photos to an account that I never even had linked with ebay. I don't know how he got that email account. I only look at it once a month or less. I gave him a refund before he even decided to send it back, because I wanted to go above and beyond on my own. Well he never sent the item back and gave negative feedback saying poor custeromer service. LOL. How could it be poor if I gave him a full refund and he is basically stealing from me. Then a month later he sends another feedback on an item he one before and said the same damn thing out of revenge. Ebay did absolutely nothing for me. They give sellers the middle finger. If I was on the board of directors I would change a lot of stuff as you don't bite the hand the feeds you. The sellers are the ones paying ebay and giving them their profits. Ebay is a joke for sellers. They s*** all over you.

all ebay are bothered about is the cut in the fees , not bothered about us sellers

Ebay & PayPal dont give a Fly Fish about Sellers !!

they only care about thier insertion Fees & Final Value Fees !!

I only send items Regesterd on Evil Bay as I been stung too many times from Buyers in the UK of all places

But regardless , I take pics of items , & postage reciepts , just incase I loose them & allso , when sent Via Refesterd I am coved by the insurance from my Postal Service , as Both Ebay & PayPal will allways 99.999% of the time rule in favour of the buyer

I've sold quite a bit over the last few months and I always get folks from over seas asking if I can ship int. Needless to say I just told them that as long as they pay for tracking I have absolutely no problem. USPS has the highest tracking out there lol

I just made it simple, you want it you pay for tracking. You don't want to pay for tracking then you don't want the item.

Ninja's please beware of the this buyer (fit-b-dog) and put him on your block list on ebay.

I received my Avengers FS steelbook from this scum with a nasty dent on the corner also the shrink wrap had several holes on it

This clearly isn't my steelbook which i sold to him. As i mentioned in my previous PM's i believe he has swapped my mint copy for the recent copy he bought from Canada last month.

I cant be bothered to go through the process of proving to paypal that this isn't my steelbook.. They don't care about the seller and they don't lose money as they have insurance to cover their losses.

Another dishonest buyer on ebay (jayczh123)

I sold this guy from China 2 Steelbooks:

Death Race DE (Embossed version)
Death Race 2 DE

I sent it International Signed For Post however for some reason on the Royal Mail Track and Trace it shows the item was being delivered in Australia. Confused

He was quite understanding because i sent him the original post office receipt showing that the address was correct.

I then called Royal Mail and they told me that sometimes post goes to different locations however it will possibly be redirected to China.

After a month it was still showing being processed through Australia's delivery system and the buyer opened a case on paypal. I called Royal mail and they said i had to wait another 2 weeks for International packages before i can claim compensation for lost item.

I was confused and didn't know what to do so i refunded the buyer as i didn't want negative feedback.

I checked last week the tracking number again and it now states the package was delivered to China last week.

I have emailed the buyer constantly since last week and no reply.


Anybody had asimilar situation that can help or advice how i can get my money back because paypal don't want to know because the case was not escalated to them and resolved by the seller and buyer.

Man sorry that happen to you. I think you should of never refunded him until someone got the items. The package can go only two ways either to the recipient or back to sender. Hopefully the buyer is honest and replies to your messages regarding the matter but in this day in age the thieves outnumber the honest folk unfortunately. Just goes to show that ebays choice to removed the option for sellers to leave negative feedback does induce people to make bad decisions.

I think you can claim some of the cost back through Royal mail GBD ??

I have a provblem , that every one wants there items sending with $25 marked as Gift !!

Problem is that , If some thning gets lost, they will only refund the amount shown on the reciept !! even though they cover upto 100 !!

I am gonna start to put actuall Sales Value on the Customs Dec !!

I havent ben caught out , ever since I stated to use Tracking/regestred Post just like Horhay does !!

I think they know that they caunt pretend not to recieve the item any more & just let it go ??

there should be a Seller ombudsman for Ebay ??

Or I just been lucky

Regarding damaged items !!

this is a tough one , as you rightly know that PayPal dont give a Rats A$$ about the Seler at all !! , so its really hard to prove that you have sent a Perfect item.

I did think you could put a Disclosure statement in your listing ~ to tghe Fact that items damaged in Transit are not covered ??

ie, once it has left you , thats it ??

when I take pics, I allways put the Daily News Paper next to the item , so they caunt discredit the Date !!

But I am small scale compared to you Bro !! I just sell a few spares & things like that ..not much,

Actually get sucked into way too much Buying than Selling

and I hear they are charging final Value Fee on your Postal Charges ??

I beat a claim a few weeks back, they said it arrived damaged, so I said take a picture of the sides, top and bottom as well.

He took a picture of it "all", however, what he didn't know is that I purposely marked the box and I had previously taken a picture of.

Plus I only use one type of box and the same model. So anything that is different I'll know right away. If indeed it was my fault I would of gladly taken it back and given them a refund, but I am yet to get sloppy with my packing so there was no way it arrived bent to hell. Even a $20 item, it's the principle.

Foreign Hot Toys sellers on Ebay always put a disclaimer on their listings mentioning that they will claim full price paid in case it gets lost and these are high priced items. I think you should do the same, it's a lose - lose situation if you don't. I've only sold maybe about 4 Steelbooks internationally and I made it very clear that I wasn't shipping unless it was with tracking and I was going to put final paid value. If they refuse then I wasn't making the sale. Luckily it was highly sought after items so people paid the price. But if Ebay/Paypal will only see us as $$$ then you have to cover your a$$ mate. People may not like your methods, but I would image that you would rather keep the item than lose it and lose more money along with it.

You may be aware of a user we recently banned on this forum because of a trading issue, dleavey81.

It appears that he has started selling items on e-bay (thanks to a member here for the heads up and another member for digging a bit further).

So it is recommended that you avoid this seller, given the issues of where payments are accepted and no items are sent.
