Well we keep finding more and more fans, garlad you are just adding to the group. So let's keep all football related content in this thread since we are small group of fans who actually follow we can't make threads that only one person will reply. Anyways Scott, Baliey, Dattebayo and myself all follow pro football. The same people in addition to Bravesfan and jrocca have/play FIFA09.

To answer your question from the other thread, yes I do follow. I don't have a particular team in the EPL, but I enjoy watching the games. However I am liking Liverpool this year, I think if they don't win it now they won't in a long time! they are finally reaching that talent threshold and it's their time! Torres is in a fantastic level and Benitez is having no issues with players so what else can I say? ManU is finally losing grip. Chelsea is a mess I think, they keep buying players and more players that bring a huge ego and that's why the teams is so inconsistent! the egos that team has will not let them find their rhythm. Arsenal has a relatively young team that will only get better and I keep reading everywhere that they might lose Fabregas this next summer....

I used to watch plenty of the Spanish league, but I lost GolTV which used to show all the games every weekend. Fox Sports channel now shows the EPL and the Serie A Italian league which is not bad, but not the same.

WOW I can't believe it! an English man who actually doesn't blindly believe they will take it all!

I got to stay with my country bailey boy even knowing that we won't win it. :mexico:

I agree with you scoot!

England hasn't changed their squad in the past 8 years, the same old squad that lost the last WC will be the same ol' England that will lose this time. Holland is strong! Did you guys check out the beating they game Ghana? it looked like a practice scrimmage :D

Spain didn't look so good against the last opponent, but hopefully with the return of Cesc and Torres the offense takes shape. :scat:

EEEWWW SSSSSS AAAA EEEWWW SSSSS AAAA EEEWWW SSSSS AAAA!!!!

Good luck

I gave up thinking england football team could win any big tournament along time ago lol, they have a good squad sure but england always disappoint in tournaments and england haven't been playing great lately, with holland they have a great team, thats been playing very well, only problem with them is there main star players are injury prone but if they stay fit, i think they will go close

The main squad players remain the same from the last WC too. I think they will make it to 1/4 finals at least.

Stars from England, Brazil and Italy have joined forces to criticise the controversial new ball to be used in the World Cup, but the developer insists there will be no cause for concern once the tournament gets underway in South Africa.
The Adidas 'Jabulani' ball has caused concern at training camps across the globe as the world's best players try it out ahead of the start of the World Cup on June 11.

It is believed to have an unpredictable swerving movement which makes its hard for goalkeepers and strikers to anticipate its direction in flight.

England goalkeeper David James says the ball is "horrible", Brazil forward Luis Fabiano calls it "weird" and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon fears its "unpredictability" could ruin the World Cup.

However, Dr Andy Harland, who developed the ball at Loughborough University's Sports Technology Institute in England, said much of the criticism was due to the unfamiliar effects arising from teams playing at altitude as part of their pre-World Cup training.

"I've seen nothing that's concerned me," he told Sky Sports News. "This ball has been around since December and been used since then around the world with very few comments.

"Teams have gone to altitude and you've seen comments come out in those circumstances.

"We've said all along it would affect the ball, but it should be said whichever ball you play with at altitude is going to be affected."

The ball is billed as the roundest ever made, a quality which would make it less stable in the air if not for a series of grooves on the surface designed to reduce aerodynamic problems.

Harland said not one team had contacted him to discuss the ball and added he was not surprised by the criticism.

"It's not entirely unexpected," he said. "Before every tournament players come out and voice their opinions.

"There are no secrets about this ball. The ball is designed to allow the very best players in the world to exhibit their skills."

That is the dumbest thing I've ever read :hilarious:

This guy is just trying to cover his behind to keep making money. This is the second ball to receive criticism. Last World Cup it was the same thing players and coaches complained about the ball as well and it wasn't because of the altitude! what clown....

It just seems dumb that he is giving that excuse when there are teams that play at very low altitudes like Brazil and high altitudes (2500 ft + above sea level) like Mexico and Bolivia. Yet there's never a complain from these teams about the ball in use. That was just a pathetic excuse. Sure, the ball looks rather nice, but he should of thought about the effects as well. I'd hate to see complaints about a loss because of the ball.

Turns out over the last year I've come to the dark side and learned to really like soccer. Go Spain.

If you can't beat them join them!! I could of swear after the 6 pages of arguments you would stick to your precious baseball and look it here now :hilarious:

Looking forward to the cup in 9 days? I can't wait man
