Well we keep finding more and more fans, garlad you are just adding to the group. So let's keep all football related content in this thread since we are small group of fans who actually follow we can't make threads that only one person will reply. Anyways Scott, Baliey, Dattebayo and myself all follow pro football. The same people in addition to Bravesfan and jrocca have/play FIFA09.

To answer your question from the other thread, yes I do follow. I don't have a particular team in the EPL, but I enjoy watching the games. However I am liking Liverpool this year, I think if they don't win it now they won't in a long time! they are finally reaching that talent threshold and it's their time! Torres is in a fantastic level and Benitez is having no issues with players so what else can I say? ManU is finally losing grip. Chelsea is a mess I think, they keep buying players and more players that bring a huge ego and that's why the teams is so inconsistent! the egos that team has will not let them find their rhythm. Arsenal has a relatively young team that will only get better and I keep reading everywhere that they might lose Fabregas this next summer....

I used to watch plenty of the Spanish league, but I lost GolTV which used to show all the games every weekend. Fox Sports channel now shows the EPL and the Serie A Italian league which is not bad, but not the same.

There's one more game, uphill battle, but faith dies at the end. :scat:

BTW and unintentional handball doesn't necessarily mean a penalty, but I am sure you know that ;)

yeh i do hahaha but when it stops the track of the ball it has to be given nevertheless, from my view barbielone were so sure they were gonna win they were playing with 10 men from the start...

2 goals that should not have been given. But that's football. Bartra wasn't bad at all. Needs more game time. No thrust on offense today. I hear all the praise for Bayern. Impressed by their play but score is unjust. Ohhh well till next Wednesday. Ref was just awful. What's the point of assistants if they do not make any calls or even assist?

I've been hoping Barca would get whooped one day, well played Munich!

No idea what Pep guardiola is exactly going to do when he takes over the BM job... as with Barca they don't exactly need much tweaking.

Against Milan, 1st goal should not have stood. Against PSG, ibras goal should not have been given and now against Bayern 2 goals were unjustly given. Barca will bounce back. Maybe not this season. Leg 2 to be played next week. Regardless of the result, Barca / Blaugrana forever.

Looks like its going to be an all German Final. Congrats to Dortmund on a well played game. Score was not indicative of their dominance in this game. So many chances in the 2nd half. Hoping Barca can overturn the huge hole they are in but thats dreaming as it is Bayern

Could'nt agree more Horhay. Messi looked better this past weekend. They beat Bayern by the same score before. I just think this yr it will be a tough ask for the boys.

hahaha you guys...you were happy yesterday about madrid putting ona fight against dortmund and arguing they had better chances...(on the same tone bayern should have won 6-0 first leg but ok) chances are to be missed...plus at least they fought well and they took it till the last minute....no 0-7 aggregate and having iniesta saying primera division is more important than CL hahaha HUMILIATION is called :p

Now I can wait happily for next season, as long as Madrid doesn't win the CL. I don't care what happens tomorrow! :scat::hilarious:

I guess strengthening the defence should be a first priority and a striker would be nice as well. If we can get one in the mould of etoo, that would be awesome.

dence is what they need...they cant stop strong teams from attacking them easily, pique seemed to be good next to puyol, while the barcelona era was at peak (until last year) but by himself he cant lead defence, neither does valdes...he cant put the defence working together....
dont forget guardiola's comment....2 years ago....we have very bad defence thats why we press with 8 players half way down!!! :p

Congrats to Bayern, they were the better team in this elimination.

Yup, Pique is nowhere near the level expected anymore. Dude has other priorities, he can go with Shakira away. He really has done us no service the last two seasons. Villa, Alexis, and Pedro might find their way out this end of the season. Villa was already looking to leave. Alexis is just doesn't fit and Pedro can stay I suppose.

Valdez needs to go, he is ok, but 3 years ago was his peak and has been going downhill ever since. He does more mistakes on a regular basis now. I wouldn't be too opposed to the rumored Cortouis. Not sure why they are trying to convince him to stay. I wouldn't take Pepe Reina either!

I would like Hummels to replace Pique

more players need to clear, puyol messi xavi iniesta is the basic they have to build on....puyol will need a replacement sooner or later though as year pass by....alves has to be one of the best in his positions alba has done a good season and bousquets whos doing all the dirty work but there stops...the rest can be bench players...
same with madrid...pepe and carvalho have to go as well as di maria and callejon...(cant stand di maria asking for higher salary where in first leg couldnt make a cross with his right foot...) higuain and benzema have to both stay at bench...but madrid got varane which is too promising...

A serious overhaul is not necessary. Rome was not built in a day and definately wont fall in a day either. They met a better team and were beat. Thats it. Dont matter if you lose 7-0 or 4-3. At the end of the day you move on. Lessons will be learnt from this season and hopefully issues addressed. Cant speak for RM as I am not a fan of theirs but have utmost respect for the team. They have their issues to deal with as well.

no no dont get me wrong, but i do believe barcelona were always better at home than away, where as real madrid more balance i would say...
up to barcelona standards though not scoring a goal in two games home away and coneceeding 7 its a huge blowout, they were lost, to be fair though 4-0 its not easy to turn around...but players like pedro who got all the praise for being the first to score in all 6 competitions the year barcelona won everything, took him on his high horse sort of thing,
of course bayern made a huge huge improvement from last year, and their discipline and plan was super amazing...

as for real madrid they are so bothered by the press things are bound to go wrong at some point...
hate it...

Champs league is over. Didnt help Busquets was not there to shield the back 3. Now secure La Liga title for Barca and strengthen for next season. Glad Messi wasnt risked for what I said was an uphill task. On the other end.......Arsenal really need to finish the season strong. LETS GO GUNNERS
