Cancel mine from Zavvi. I bought the US version instead, slim case. 4 discs, disc 1 and 2 3D blu-ray for the movies part 1 and 2 182 min, disc 3 and 4 regular blu-ray for special features. It is the same price betwen UK version and US version at $32 after tax.

Well if the horrible front design is not enough to put you off, the fact it's a jumbo should be even more reason to cancel.

I for one like jumbos if the edition needs it. For so many discs, I can understand why you would need a jumbo.
I just wish it comes out already to know the exact audios and subs on both 3D and 2D discs, because the info published so far is contradictory to say the least.

Sorry guys but you all moan too much... You're getting a lot of content for £19 an extended edition and a 3D movie.

This is my first Jumbo, but guess what... Come this time next November there's going to be a Jumbo Steel for Desolation of Smaug gauranteed. All 3 of these sitting side by side well look a great set.

I've never bothered finding out, but what is a Jumbo? Does it just mean the Steelbook's wider than the average Steel?

Also, I don't like any of the artwork they've released for The Hobbit. I ordered the 3D version with the statuette, and the art on that is Bilbo holding Sting, which I don't like at all. I wish they would have released some nice painted artwork.

It's a fair point but there is also a chance (a big one) that Warner may not follow it up with a jumbo next time, especially if they read all the backlash for this one.

I had the Jumbo for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, I never could convince myself to like it and ended up buying seperate steels in the end. I think I will just wait for an extended box set once they are all over and done with.

I guess I don't value all things steelbook above other editions. The US lenticular slip cover is a beauty compared to this.

if there will be 5 discs, like this one, it'll be another jumbo for sure
