Received mine this morning... it's matte (not the cheap stuff, but the smooth kind - satin?) with spot gloss and embossing to the title.

I should add that my photos really don't do it justice by the way, so maybe wait until someone with better photography skills turns up before deciding whether to purchase this or not... although, I'd personally say go for it!
