Not an easily-digestible movie so I'm not surprised it hasn't sold out.

Agreed. For that reason I passed waiting for ZDT which for me is a better release. As my collection grows, I now detest having a release with little repeat watch value. The lenticular looks really good though.

Am I the only one who thinks the lenticular isn't very good? The image is pretty much the same as the inside artwork and it barely changes when moved judging by the GIF. I think the full slip is much better.

I have to say they did a much better job with the 3d process on the lenticular. The Drive and Guardians both

This isn't a moving lenticular in that way. It's simply the same subject viewed from different angles. I have looked at the images side by side with the free viewing 3d method and it looks brilliant. They are definitely getting better at implementing the 3d into their images. There is none of that horrible facial distortion that was present on GotG or Drive. I would say this could be one of the better Lenticular covers, up there with Her perhaps.

This pre-order came at the worst possibly time for me. Couldn't justify spending any money on steels today so this will leave a big gaping hole in my PA collection! :( I'm gutted to say the least. Here's hoping the FS & Lenti will stay in stock for a couple of weeks and then I'll have to hunt down the 1/4 slip somewhere else. ;)

Congrats to the people who have placed/are placing their orders today. The different editions looks stunning (as usual). :D

Have you seen Drive in hand. It looks really good, the facial distortion that was in the mock up images isn't noticeable to me. The depth and clarity are spot on!:)

Ah that's good to know. I have it coming to me through the UK GB so look forward to seeing it. To be honest the worst of the distortion is obviously at the most 'turned' that the subject is and you aren't really going to see that unless you look at the lenticular from the most acute angle. Thanks for the info ;)

The depth is amazing like you say, but I think the face on Drive is a bit 'off' somehow. Maybe its just me? :dunno:

Have to ask is the film any good

How long is a piece of string?! It's all very subjective, dude. For instance, I would feel confident in recommending a film like Taken, as it has that mass appeal type quality to it. I would certainly not feel the same about doing so with The Master, nor any of the films PTA directs.

My best advice to you would be to read a brief synopsis on the film and see what you think. I think you can make a fairly decent assumption from that as to whether or not you may like it. Have you watched any other PTA films before, and if so, what did you think? I did post a page back or so, stating that I think this is possibly PTA's least accessible film, but I love it, hence the subjective nature of film.

The 1/4 slip was out of stock in less than a minute for me. I could add it to the cart but when I tried to checkout the quantity would drop from 1 -> 0 and it would say "Out of Stock" or something like that. After a few minutes of that I just went for the tri-pack.

It may be slightly off but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as it looked on the original pics. The depth is amazing though! Hopefully The Master lenticular is equally as good!:)

Ughhh. So tempting. I want to blind buy especially just for the fact that I want all the PA steels, but after reading Meth's post I have second thoughts. Plus, my wallet needs a break desperately.

I would agree with @meth head that this is most definitely not a release that you should consider blind buying.

When I saw "The Master" at the cinema a couple of years ago, I found it bored me to tears, in spite of the fine acting displayed by its principals but that's all down to individual taste. Conversely, I loved the same director's "Boogie Nights".

I would recommend either renting or downloading a copy of the film and taking it from there.
