So we are NOT fine with 2 WEA Steelbooks released by the same retailer but are okay with 3 or 5 editions of the same Steelbook in different packaging by the same retailer?
Looking at the cost, it is 30-48 for 2 WEA Steelbooks from Zavvi against 130-150 for the same Steelbook housed in different packaging.
The level of hypocrisy is astounding.

Sorry if I sound unsympathetic, but...
a) it's not like this went out of stock within a few days so you had plenty of opportunity to buy it. Why should people who chose not to buy because they didn't like it miss out on an alternative design just because you didn't take your chance?
b) Also there are some people that like to buy multiple versions of steelbook art who would also like to see a different version entirely.
c) People that did buy it would presumably like to preserve the rarity of their item. Flooding the market with another 2-3 thousand copies is not going to please them.
d) We should be strongly opposed to re-releases in general, it's very bad for the hobby and promotes even more laziness in the supplier.
I agree that the German "bloodied hand" art was crap, but the original poster art for The Mist was one of the best I've ever seen and I went and saw the film the very same day on the strength of that poster. A version of that (with English text) all glossed up would make my year
I love the fact your gettin worked up and worried that zavvi will read this and contact the studio for more to be made
They know the demand for this already
And the plenty of opportunity is a pointless conversion considering a lot of people wait for price drops with their catalogue titles nowadays.
It's not like it was £7.99 like most their catalogue titles go to and we waited around for a further price drop lol
You never know this could of had the same fate as sleepy hollow and half the stock was damaged
But they already know people would like this again or with different art.
I didn't think much of this film, massively cheesey in places but the art for me is 10/10 and only worth buying for that alone
I would say sleepy hollow is one of zavvis most sought after catalogue titles.
I think the print run was 2000 or 2500 and half of us never had our order fulfilled (including me), it never came back instock like classic zavvi after pre order shinanigans and it turned out that loads of the copies got damaged in a truck or somthing. So not many were released
I along with God knows how many was gutted plus it's one of my fav burton films and his best film with depp.
That is one film I am waiting for a re release or a different version from somwhere (don't have to be zavvi) so I can upgrade from DVD.
Plus with stock damaged its not like anyone can really kick up a fuss if they did decide to do it again. Even if anyone did pay £50+ on the bay
Nothing against wreck but I doubt everytime there was whisper of a reprint or re release he boycotted it and then the studios cancelled their plans!!!!

), it was merely putting forward my case that if it was to be re-released then it should definitely have different art to the first release.Yeah I know they know that this was a popular title - my god I bet their accounting people were all over this like a dog in heat when they realized it had sold out

Here are some comparison pics of both The Mist, the German vs Zavvi pop art edition. Note that there are two German versions. The other is of the main character carrying the child but the 'bloodied hand' one is considered to be the best from the two.

I think these are both very different in their ways. The feel quality to the DE version is a lot better as the Zavvi feels very basic and bland, bit like watching paint dry lol. It's good we have different releases and try something different. A new release like a new reboot from an old movie. The Der Nerbel title is very off putting. As you can see the old classic DE German text, their infamous trademark of the old classic steelbooks.
Which is better?
Quality wise definitely the DE version. But the Zavvi one feels more upto date in the current market.

The German disc has superior PQ and AQ to the UK disc though.

I definitely prefer the UK version to any other Mist steels out there. 
Any steelbook if you like what you see and want it 100% it's best to pre order and keep your order
Sometimes I know due to cash flow issues we all have had to cancel orders we 100% want but as soon as available funds become available I always re order if still in stock and not wait for a possible price drop
Waiting for possible price drops is something I only do if it's a release I not that bothered if I miss out on and I then decide if I get it or not
When it's a release limited to 2,000 it can sell out quick or take time and a few do drop in price
You can tell though sometimes if a release will sell out quickly by looking at the amount of views of a release and posts in a thread and reaction to live in hand photos of a release by looking at various web forums.

They can also decide not to do a re print
If you look at this thread there were hardly any interests lol. Half of the posts here are because it suddenly when OOS. Nearly everyone was waiting for a price drop and this is one of the few occasions we are happy to upfront full cost, without discount codes! In other words we have been Zavvied on this release
