I have spoken to Nick in regards to his LGB, his is near mint similar to your one? :)

Mine is minty mint...in a super-thick original polybag as released by Amazon JP. I bought it from someone who bought it direct from Amazon JP...

Anyone, please reply if you have one purchased directly from Amazon JP that is shrink-wrapped, so that I can confirm once and for all, and bust the myth, if need be.

to be fair AA, I would guess that only a few members actually own or ever have owed this steel.. and not many of those would have bought Direct ?? I drive a car worth less $$$ than this steel , so the likely Hood of me ever owning a Copy is Slim to Zero :hilarious:

Out of the Origonal Buyers , I would allso guess that only a few are actually members here ?? And this is the best site in the World :scat: but I only ever remember this being an open Steel , just like HMV ~ HK do with a thick Poly Bag slapped on it :D

I do know a collector in HK bought this direct from Amazon Japan at a very cheap price, less than 3000 yen.

He confirmed to me that it came in a resealable poly bag only.

It appears from information I have seen LGB never actually came sealed. There is no way to identify a 'NEW' Le Grande Bleu is there? Many can claim it's new but with a resealable poly bay you cannot unless it's still sealed in the original amazon.jp packaging box which I doubt anyone will have. So this factor will affect its actual value.

We have seen Socrates sell one on ebay for $1000, which is near mint condition. We are juggling the most expensive steel to acquire would be between LGB and John Rambo sealed.

I am not too concerned about the value of a sealed or unsealed one. I would just like to know categorically whether there is such a thing as a legit shrink-wrapped LGB. If there is, I will track one down. If there isnt, then, well, my job is done wrt to LGB.

Well this thread is about values AA and if there is no factory sealed one it impacts the value of the steel as we all know sealed and unsealed there is a huge difference. So this is an important issue in regards to the value of LGB.

So someone please stand up and confirm if they have a sealed copy of LGB received from Amazon JP...

What was the production run, anyways?

No idea, I think you have more knowledge than most people here on this steel :hilarious:

IF this is confirmed to be sold re-sealed in a poly bag I will crown a factory sealed John Rambo with stickers to be the most expensive steelbook in the world to this date.

I sold a sealed and mint copy of LGB Japan at 3 months ago,its from some japan stores, doesnt form amazon.jp......

When did T2 2.0 go for $500? Are you confused with T4 Taiwan that was sold for $550?

Estimates on the following you stated:
- ID4 Error £300+
- MR £250 - £300
- TDK FNAC £300 - £350

The BIG FOUR will begin from £400 +
IM FS will start from £400.
2.0 /JR/LGB will range from £500 +

Here's the link, hope you'll can see it.
BTW I think this proves how the other copies on sell were ridiculously jacked up by shill bidders.

Do you know why that went to $550 (didnt meet the reserve)?

Because the way it is listed, wheres the picture? And I generally don't bid on steelz with no picture or a cruddy listing!

One of the last ones I seen was sold in July for over 500 euros on bids, around £400+. It most probably has increased in value by now as grails normally do.

Your going to get shill bidders everywhere so there is never 100% price but you can generally give a rough value.

I know it didn't meet the reserve, but it I think it showed what people were willing to spend (w/o shill bidders involved). My items sell for cheap, I don't shill bid, so no, shill bidders are not everywhere. Also, pictures of the item were provided by the seller.

Here's a T2 2.0 that was sold on 8th November on bids for £435, around $700 by laurent who is a HDN member.

T2 2.0 Ebay Link

It sold a little low what I expected but still very impressive. That is the difference with a listing with no picture and picture. If you don't show real pictures, regardless if they can be requested, people will be put off from bidding if you don't advertise your item well.

And the previous auction before that in June 2012 went for over 500 euros by seller Kafi5050.

kafi5050 Feedback Ebay seller

If you also look at the recent feedback in October, he sold a sealed mint John Rambo for £1020 andthe buyer left feedback. The buyer also had purchased from other HDN members via ebay so it is unlikely it was a fake bidder giving false feedback.

You can argue your point this way, it was most probably shill bidded upto £1000, but the buyer had over a £1000 reserve and was willing to pay that amount.

Nedflanders sold his open mint John Rambo for £340.

Not every auction is going to be accurate and you shouldn't base one listing on it's current values. Sometimes they go a little low, sometimes they go higher, but what I look for is consistency.

What's the arguement? All I did is state that T2V2 went for $530, and that (I believe) no shill bidders were involved. Obviously, many factors affect how a sell goes. Factors such as; stock photos, real photos, seller feedback, reserve price, & when the listing ends can influence the selling price. I personally accept that if there was no stock photo or a reserve price the sell could had exceeded $530. 500 Euros ($635.60) & 435 UK Pounds ($691.82) is not far from $530, proper advertisement & the seller could had reach around $650. Though, the last T2V2 sold around $1,200 (with obvious shill bidding), I'm sure the seller was anticipating the same.

Regarding John Rambo with the tattoo I will not acknowledge it because the "talk" was about T2V2. John Rambo is considered more rare by collectors, therefore are willing to spend more. John Rambo selling for $1,000 is not schocking because it is on a different level, but this is about T2V2.

I don't know what answers you are looking for, but it is clear as rain I don't have them (you either can love it or hate it). I am not here to argue with anyone.

Also, T4 TW that supposedly sold for $550 got relisted by the infamous Socrates, though, it is possible it is a second copy he owns.

No one is arguing with you SK47, I am just providing you with information as discussed on PM to support my statement. Thank you for your input.
