Here us a slight guide to the way I glossed mine ok here's what I used

A gravity fed spray gun
yvavu2y8.jpg

Then I used some accelerator and clear coat which I use when I spray cars also added is a slight but if thinners I think it's 2 to 1

The steels are wiped over with cleaners I get rid of grime and oil that fingers can lea e and any oils
desuse2y.jpg

Then I spray it in a booth which is heated and has ventilation AND IS HEATED KNOWN AS AN OVEN
Basically it what I use to spray car bits
apuhypa3.jpg

Then spray and leave them to harden at least a day and this will be hard enough to polish to

OH I FORGOTTO ADD A PICTURE OF THE HARDENER AND THE FACT I GET ALL KITTED UP LIKE WALTER WHITE FROM BREAKING BAD ....

WELL A BREATHING MASK AND OVERALLS AS THIS STUFF ISNT GOOD FOR BREATHING IN A CONFINED SPACE

Edited for trading

Todays effort Iron Man 3 DE Front and Sherlock Holmes Back (hadn't enough spray). I still got a few dots on the steels but don't how to avoid this, i only use the cleaner with wipes (no dots) and then i spray them and then i got some spots :dunno::dunno:

Glossed my Fifth Element today, it's had an hour drying, brought it indoors now to finish drying and stop smelling, probably be two days to stop the smell. Looks much more vibrant though.

Did you have any problems with orange peel or paint build-up?

Would you mind describing what you did or possibly making a video for those of us who are struggling?

How the steel is laid out (open, on the cardboard) is how I took it outside, and took my can of spray gloss that I bought from Amazon and sprayed it evenly (along with the sides and top/bottom).
Before spraying I wiped the steel with a dry sheet of kitchen towel.

Thanks. I don't know what it is that I'm doing different. Maybe it's the spray gloss I'm using.

I use the same as D4vem88. Don't see any orange/peel but there have been some complaints in the amazon review section about the same when applied on white surfaces. So I am not going to try these on white Steels as a precaution.

Glossed Predator 3D (MM) and Toy Story 3 (Zavvi). Both have come out quite well. Almost perfect in my books. Will upload some pics tonight.

I really don't know why Scanovo / Studio won't do this as it shouldn't cost a lot to gloss. :dunno:

Extra steps = Extra time = time is money = less profits = matte steelbooks for you.
