So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

Not really an :emb:mg: but doesn't seem to be telling the right info

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BNFS-Hobbit...?pt=US_DVD_HD_DVD_Blu_ray&hash=item1c35f2b3fb

"Detailed description: Listing for brand new and sealed The Hobbit 3D Singapore Blu Ray steelbook. Comes with a 68 page book attached to the back of the steelbook. It is rumoured that only 100 copies of these were produced, so extremely rare. Other item on ebay is for sale for nearly £500 (161034786585). This is exactly the same just without the outer slipcover. However you will get a Hobbit "key" with it which the other auction does not contain (only very limited numbers came with this key!)."

The rare ones are the ones with slips right that came from Alex?

Yes, Alex's slip ones are limited to 100 each one and were only available through his GB. I was one of the lucky ones that got the key with it, which I believe he only had 10 of

A real show in how volatile the steelbook market is at the moment. Both described mint and sealed FS copies

Ended AUG 3rd

Ended SEPT 5th

Compare to a mint sealed BB empty case

Let this be a lesson to all. ALWAYS start your auction at $0.01, and not $19.99. It matters. And yes, always get the FS version if possible. If rarity is your thing.
