What is the highest known price paid for a steelbook? Is it less than $700?

Iron Man sealed has sold for $1000 + in the past. I believe it's all about timing and who else is bidding at the time you put it up.

I've seen a John Rambo sell for 770 Euros, and a Mirror's Edge (PS3) sell for $750+ a few months ago when Iron Man or Rambo were "only" selling for around $500. I guess the next sealed Mirror's Edge will break all the records.

By far the rarest PS3 steelbook, and some say it's even the rarest steelbook ever produced. G2 size, Spain exclusive.

Don't get caught up in the videogames steelbooks, that's an addiction even worse than the bluray ones, I'm completely obsessed with them now

I am definitely keeping away from those then! Blu ray steels are enough strain/drain/stain on my finances.

Believe me, I'd have an easier time finding Iron Man sealed 3 times in a row for less than $200 than finding 1 sealed copy of this for less than $600.

Dont wish to offend anyone on this steel, is it expensive because it just 'rare' or is it actually a nice looking steel as well? In my opinion it doesn't really give me any buzz to it.

It's just super rare, it doesn't even look that good (hopefully otherwise I'd be crying my eyes out). I'm lucky I'm very picky, I'm not looking for a lot of rare steels just because I don't think they look good (specially for their price).

Well....price is probably all about demand and supply. The more rare collectors think it is, the more they want it and thus creating the demand. Supply, they hope, is limited.

Also, the question is whether this steelbook collecting hobby is going to catch on in the less active countries. I suppose steelbook producers, etc will try to drum up interest in those less active countries....

I dont go after rare steels, I bought Zombieland cuz I like the movie but I do like the artwork more. My preference. If it looked the same released fom a different country and wasn't so rare I would have went that route.

I will be going after the 2nd release Rambo with the uncut disc cuz thats what I prefer.

Also, I'm actually glad I didn't win the most recent ebay Iron man cuz I hope down the road a trilogy steel will come out and will be more than happy to have that instead. No Iron man steel to date has blown me away.

I like that one alot too! It's very simple but very cool. I have it up in my trade thread but don't think I'll trade it now.

I am interested to see what this Version 2.0 goes for. I'm actually surprised it's already this high.

That was a couple of months ago a member posted a link to a seller on eBay and he had a $&#! Load new for $45.00. Many members here got them from that seller. Damn it was even cheaper then what I remembered.
