So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. It's probably the same rich collector who bought Terminator Salvation exclusive Steelbook for over $1,000. It's true, some rich people rather buy an expensive Steelbook than wait for another copy to come along or bid against others.

Anyways, I expect the price to drop. Only b/c one wealthy collector is willing to spend exaggerant sums of money doesn't mean others will.
In the end, I'm glad I at least own a copy.

That same collector that bought T4 Virgin for $1000 was also the same person that bought T4 Fnac for $575 if I can recall from the same seller who sold Ted Korea lol. So it is probably that rich collector. As they say, 'money is no object' for some :)

Or they could be buddies acting in collusion to boost up prices. If they're members here, they know this thread gets lots of views, so by doing this, they make a particular title look desirable. Honestly, I cannot see this "Ted" amount to anything. Rarity is one thing, but in order to be a grail, you need the second factor, desirability. Often, this second factor gets ignored. I don't really know how many of you "Ted" fans are out there, but IMO, that poor basterd massively overpaid.

Unbelievable lol. Socrates caters for the RICH people, collectors that have the money to burn. He's not here to sell his steels to us! He targets the rich and he gets paid off. I know people moan about his prices but the point is he sells them so credit to him.

I give Socrates a fair amount of respect for his audacity, resourcefulness and acumen. He gets rare steels, he sells rare steels. I am sure he is not making a loss. Everyone must remember collecting steel IS expensive. And Socrates is almost single-handedly trying to raise the game, propelling steelbook collecting to the next level. Whilst people moan and groan about steelbook prices, and intermittenly are laughing at him behind his back, he is laughing his way to the bank. Now, who doesnt secretly wish to be the latter?

To be fair a lot of asian slips are not great, no offence to anyone. There are some slips you can make an exemption, but there there are others that are just 'milking the cow' for more money.

Iron Sky Jpn could end up the same as Ted Korea. It has a red hot slip.

It does look pretty awesome, and I am pretty concerned now, as I cancelled my pre-order (amongst a dozen other pre-orders) at the end of November, and it never came back in stock. I need a kind soul to pass me one!
