So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

I really hope it's genuine cartman as I'm sure you are pretty nervous right now. Don't read too much into how 'friendly' they are being until you have seen the item and are 100% satisfied with it.

If you are 'friendly' with them then you might be less inclined to question the authenticity of the item etc. I know it sounds a bit paranoid but this seller isn't necessarily known to anyone here so I hope it all turns out fine for you and any others who have bought from them ;)

it's already going pearshaped :ohno: the item is showing delivered but i don't have it EEK! What's strange is the delivery p.o is in hampshire and i am in tyne and wear so something is funky. They may have just given me the wrong tracking info but i'm still it has me wondering!

I'd be hard to please if I lived in Tyne & Wear and my package was delivered to Hampshire!

Good luck with it though mate - if it's all genuine there'll be a stampede for that Gladiator.

Wooooo! Somebody purchased that Gladiator off that seller. I hope it all pans out lol. Anyways, now we can properly establish the going rate of this Gladiator TW. It was NOT worth 800 GBP's ($1200), because it sold for less. This puts it in the category of T2 V2 and FS IM, nowhere remotely close to John Rambo. I remember I had a very interesting discussion on this matter. With IM 3 coming out real soon, I don't think it will be on par with IM either, but we'll see.

Note to all collectors, collect steels that are blockbuster driven, not "rarity".

Not quite as straightforward as that unfortunately. Not only was this a used, resealed copy but it was also from a seller who - for the moment - seems rather suspect, with few people ready to take a chance. I know for a fact that there are people who would LEAP on a sealed TW Gladiator if the circumstances were right (i.e. reputable seller, sealed copy).

The fact that a seller would list an item for £800 and then sell it for only £550 tells me that all is not right somehow. As a seller, you would wait for more and better offers on such a rare item.

It's a common sell tactic, list it for way more than what you'd accept, so people end up offering around what you wanted for it in the first place, easy win, and if someone just bites on the original high price, bonus.

people anyone came across her on ebay,?? just won a der nebel from her at 'what i consider' an extremely low price,
dont know what i should expect, a broken one? a run over by the track one?
hahah

ot has nthn to do with the previous but ok hahaha

I can 100% confirm that my opened copy of Gladiator TW was sold for £500.

Thank you for the useful info. But did you sell it to a private individual? or in a ebay auction? It matters. Think of it as there are people out there that would pay 20 million for a Picasso, but if you were to offer the same Picasso to the masses, are you gonna get 20 million for it? That being said, we can safely say that an open copy is worth around 500 GBP's, not quite at the level of T2 V2 or FS IM. I do not 100% trust this figure of 500 GBP's either. I only witnessed it on a BIN auction, and not a true auction.

I avoid Ebay totally. Yeah, there is money to be made but also steelbooks to be fleeced. I would rather sell an item locally where I meet the buyer instead of selling on Ebay. No issues with any members here.

I may lose a few bucks and the buyer will save a few bucks instead of using Ebay but the buyer can inspect it before paying for it. Too many issues with Ebay nowadays as pointed out in this forum.

There are a few members here who live in the same area as me and it has always been a positive experience when meeting up and having a cup of coffee with them.

I still do trade and sell with members here but only on my time which seem to be fleeting.

I would prefer not disclosing the sale details of my Gladiator TW. It was sold privately, not on eBay.
