You know something is wrong with the Academy Awards system when a movie gets both best actor and director and not best picture.

I would never send an Academy member into a video store and pick something out for me. :p

Adrian Brody was amazing in "The Pianist"! ;)

I did agree with them on Best Picture for: The Bridge on the river Kwai, Ben-Hur, Lawrence of Arabia, Midnight Cowboy, Patton, The French Connection, The Godfather, The Godfather Part ll, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Rocky, The Deer Hunter, Platoon, Dances With Wolves, The Silence of the Lambs, Schindler's List, Braveheart, No Country For Old Men, Slumdog Millionaire, and The Hurt Locker.

"Pulp Fiction" is one of the few times I agreed with them. Brody was amazing in "The Pianist"! ;)

Exactly what do you agree with? That it wasn't 'Best picture' which went to 'Forrest Gump' or that it deserved to win 'Best original screenplay'? Like 'The Pianist', it won the Palme D'Or though. But not 'Best picture' at the Oscar's.
It should've won it though imo.

Oops, Pulp fiction won for Best Original Screenplay and not Best Picture! (And I do agree with the Best Original Screenplay Oscar.) It's my favorite film of all time and I guess my brain did a little revisionist history. :p

I do love Forrest Gump and it was my second choice for Best Picture in 1994.

Got mine today! Not as sexy as the image in the OP, but far from ugly

I know this sounds weird, but I found it super difficult to put this in a protective sleeve. It may be a millimeter or two thicker than an average exclusive. Was anyone able to do this?

I'm really on the fence about getting the full slip :ohno: It looks amazing but I have spent too much money! Also as it is heavy it would be smart to bundle it with another release... so many thoughts :D

How could you agree with Rocky over Taxi Driver!! EEK!

Well, of course you can...it's your choice, but I thought it was a blunder by the Academy, as was not awarding Raging Bull and GoodFellas...yeah, I am a Scorsese fan...
