UK is the leader for steelbooks at the moment. No doubt about it.

The vast majority of steels released in the UK have inside art, clean front and back etc....a huge variety of catalogue titles and new releases.

Germany is awful, Canada loves their French text, USA is all about the re-releases and Asia is just ridiculously expensive.

UK has set the standard over the past 18 months or so.

Oh yeah.. but USA is the leader for no inside art, cheap flimsy metal, spines printed so bad you can barely read, poor packing so that they are dented upon arrival, and Walmart employees that throw them in the shopping cart. Wait... this hasn't gone as expected...

As was stated, I DID perform a search and had no results using "place beyond pines". Wouldn't have expected any extra words would help.

Release date for the general Blu-Ray version is Aug/Sept 2013, so very likely the date of the Steelbook will come forward. :movie:

Will be so gutted if this gets cancelled. Disappointed with the build quality for Django Unchained so cancelled that and was really looking forward to both this and Time Bandits over the summer. This was a big hope for me after the disappointment of Zero Dark Thirty. Please don't cancel this Studio Canal!

Yeah nobody does - people were theorising that it was placeholder artwork, as on Amazon and Sainsbury's it said "artwork tbc" on the bottom. I have a feeling StudioCanal have pulled them until they have sorted out the artwork and pricing - notice the regular DVD and amaray prices have shot up, signalling a balls-up on StudioCanal's end. Hopefully they sort this out soon as I still have my pre-order with Sainsbury's active and this is the biggest release of the year so far for me.

It has been removed for preorder from all retailers not just Amazon

No it has been taken down from Amazon, Zavvi and Sainsbury's where it had been up for pre-order. Just says 'not available' though, but mine is still on pre-order through Sainsbury's...
