Guys, i just checked my mail today, i got 3 boxes form zavvi. I reach to pull out the first box i notice the box is light and the end is open, No steelbook someone stole it.

The other 2 boxes are normal.

So i walk home and open them and find evil dead, and evil dead 2. The one that was stolen is TPBTP.

If your gonna steal one steelbook why not take the other 2 also. These boxes leave little doubt as to whats in them.

Who would i complain to about this, zavvi, my post office.

I worried about this, i mean post office guys with sticky fingers.

I once complained about a netflix disc i never received and the guy at the post office called my house to complain to me that he didn't steal it. I wonder how this will go. What are your guys thoughts?


Edit: I sent Zavvi an e-mail, i want no problems with the USPS.

Report it to the post office and also to Royal Mail (if thats who is responsible for getting it to you)

Both copies come with the mysterious spine slasher ... I copy is very feint so can only see in a certain angle of light so I kept that one, the second copy has a noticeable thin slash, this one is going back to Zavvi for refund.

Both slashes are underneath the shrinkwrapping

i agree it does look pretty poor but because its thin, it doesnt mean it will be crap. for example, when i brought a tv it had this very thin foam sheeting. ive kept it and even though its thin it is very strong and offers alot of protection. im not saying the new zavvi is like this as ive only had 1 steel arrive in it so i cant pass judgement yet, but it could be.

overall, im happy with the quality of the steel but i wish the black glasses and pendant drop was high gloss finish similar to finish on drive steelbook. if the glasses were super glossy then this would of been perfect.

Just received my copy in mint condition. Pleasantly surprised by this in hand. IMO it's simple, classy and the worn/scratched effect is a nice touch. Don't mind the colour at all. Just hope I like the film now. :movie:

I wouldn't automatically assume it's a case of theft (but of course it could be just that).

In the past, I've received two steelbook shipments from Zavvi where the cardboard flap at one end wasn't properly folded in, and the box was basically completely open at that end.

In both cases, the steelbook was inside and in mint condition.

Note that both of these were with the thicker foam that practically prevented the steelbook from falling out, as it was a very tight fit.

With the "new, improved", thinner foam, I can easily imagine how the steelbook could just fall out of the box if it wasn't closed properly.

I was having this problem with my TAXI DRIVER STEELBOOK, the box come in mint condition but once you hold it, you know there is nothing in it. I immediately write to ZAVVI, and after a few correspondences. They sent me a replacement. I keep thinking what was in the mind of that packer when he pack the stuff. I still keep that MINT box.

Well Zavvi was great, i e-mailed them and they responded the next day saying the would send me another one. Received the dispatch e-mail from them that same day.

That is good news. They could have easily dragged their heels over replacing it.
Still can't believe your mail man would even bother to post what must have been obviously an empty box with out contacting you about it.

It is 100% locked, tried the disc in a region A player myself.

Saw this a few days ago, very good movie but not sure if I want to spend £18 nearly on it and it could arrive damaged again as its Studio Canal!

The mockup made it look white/beige. To me, this is not a good looking steel at all. Combined with the sheer 'I'll only ever watch it once' factor of the movie makes my decision not to buy this seem like a good choice!
