Just to reiterate what we all know:-
- Order all 3 tomorrow with VBOX50.
- Or order the 2 that are live now if you think there is a chance they will sell out before tomorrow midday (no way jose) and cancel them tomorrow and re-order with 'Sword' with a little off thanks to the code which I believe will still be available.
Of course, if you use the code don't expect to receive any further discount as you will not be eligible for any further reduction if the prices of any of the three drops before release date.
No brainer really.
Yep - just done that, thanks.

To be fair a lot of people who bid on ebay now seem to think they should get stuff for nothing so most people are wise enough to put up the item they want to sell at a reasonable price. You're asking for trouble if you sell on ebay at a low price because then everyone that bids keeps the bids low so they are nowhere near the price the seller wants. Maybe it's because of gumtree and the like but a lot of buyers just don't play ball anymore.

On the other hand there are those batty sellers who offer steelbooks at horrendously inflated prices even when these may still be available from the retailer at the original release price, sometimes at half the price of the 'Buy It Now' !
Do these people think steelbook buyers are stupid or too lazy to check the retailers' websites ???

People should be wise enough now to go to xtra-vision, if they can't easily get to an HMV branch, and give the auction site a miss for HMV exclusive steelbooks for example.

Same applies for Zavvi exclusive steelbooks - we have learnt the lesson by now that "Sold out" there does not mean that the item is really sold out in 99% of cases and that these so-called 'sold out' steelbooks come back in stock at or near the release date and can stay in stock for a while afterwards and sometimes at a fiver or more cheaper.
It would make sense to me if there is a print run of say 3,000 for a steelbook that Zavvi would hold back a certain number (a quarter?) for replacements and also I'd say it doesn't look good when the release date finally arrives and there is no stock . . . There are also the inevitable cancellations of large orders and cancellations due to payment problems to take into consideration.
A good recent example is 'Big Hero 6' with copies changing hands for between GBP 35 - 50 during the few weeks before release when all it took was a bit of patience to buy it from Zavvi for the 'right' price at release date.

All that being said I am personally a fan of the auction site especially when looking for Blu-rays originally released with slipcovers now long unavailable (the slipcovers) from the retailers and I have probably only had a handful of bad experiences there out of my many hundreds of transactions.

200 remaining of this and 300 remaining of 'New Groove' - poor old 'Brother Bear' will be feeling lonely soon . . .
We suspect it's a bluff but we still wonder if they have a 'full house'.

I do wonder how Zavvi pick their releases. I mean, I love The Sword in the Stone but was anyone really crying out for Brother Bear? I'm so glad I got a copy ordered!

well; ther's been a poll

i 'd say even though the sword was clearly the "winner" the emperor has pretty high demand (at least after rulling out the ones announced/released like the sword wall e ratatouille and big hero 6)even brother bear was pretty well placed even though there were a few ones before it(like lilo and stitch for example)

I imagine they will release all 40 or so in steelbooks that they have already released as Blu-rays in Amaray cases.
N.B. I am referring to the Disney Numbered Classics in particular and not Zavvi/Disney steelbooks in general.
