Hmm thought it went a little down hill in the second half... was almost like a different film. Still not bad overall though IMO, and definitely not worth the amount of hate it's received in here. Not sure I'd be in a rush to rewatch it however, so I'll pass for now and maybe pick it up if there's ever a price drop.
@Noodles polite way of saying 'yeah, it's crap'!! :p

I'm sorry to hear that

Korean films maybe due to the HK films influence are usually a mismatch of genre ie comedy with action, comedy with tearjerker, horror with tearjerker and in this case - thriller + horror + comedy

Which part is the second half if you don't mind me asking?

think i'm gonna go to bed early tonight, i have to be up at 2PM Korean time tommorow morning
At least you'll have an extra hour in bed than people in the UK. I'm going to set my alarm and see if I can open my eyes wide enough to be able to order one on my phone :/

It's on Netflix so I'd try and watch it tonight if you can before buying. I loved it, as I say, but seems to split audiences down the middle
I wish it were on Netflix Germany, too. I'm hoping to scale down on my purchases in 2020. Accordingly, blind buys are/should be out of the question. Especially in a genre I'm usually not to fond of: horror (although The Wailing seems to cover more than just one genre's specifics). Also, I'm still not sure which of the slips I like best. More and better pictures would be most welcome before making a decision (leaning towards FS A at the moment). I guess the slips will probably stick around until release and the first customers' pictures appear, but I doubt the 1/4 Slip will last just as long... hmm, difficult decision.

Yeah
In this movie
The "comedy" is not funny
The " horror" is not scary
The "suspense" is boring
And the viewing strategy seems to be watching it again and again until you fabricate some reason to absolutely"love" it

i am planning on watching it so many time, that i will fabricate an "i love it" feeling for you.

And then find out afterwards that the director took out the original ending to make it more ambiguous so you could 'take what you want from it' yourself instead!!

He probably had no idea what was going on himself by that point!

Yeah, there was a big genre shift in the second half IMO - the second half being...
...once the shaman arrived.

i only watched once. Can't imagine if i watch multiple times. Would i love it more or hate it more?

Just curious, you watched it on netflix on some other "alternative" source? Maybe the subs was bad?

At the risk of falling onto deaf ears :notworthy:

His filmography is short but impressive at least to me

- the chaser
- the yellow sea

This is his first horror movie attempt i think

Similarly could it be bad sub?
