After I saw the in-hand pics, I cancelled my order. The gloss and embossing are pretty nice, but the design is overall very underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's the use of just two colors or the fact that the cover is 50% text or something else.
I still have the German steel on preorder, not sure if I'll cancel that or give this a chance in hand. Still a bit undecided about this steel really.
When I woke up this morning, this steel was missing from my shelf. After a brief panic I found it in my kitchen flipping pancakes, it's such a good steel it made my breakfast 
Mine has taken a timely detour, no doubt to pick me up some sandwiches. I'm sure it'll arrive today with numerous gifts.

There has to be some compromise I guess if you want a lot of heavy embossing. I for one will take that 'popping effect' any day if it means we will see more of it.

great news.. the best being not having to get in touch with zavvi for a replacement
Did you open the Steel? When I first saw it I thought it looked good but not as amazing as I was expecting. Once you open it you see how nice it is, I think the back is even better than the front. The reflective dollar signs look great! As for the steel being flimsy there's nothing that can be done, that's just a side effect of heavy embossing. It weakens the metal so makes it pop in and out easier. For me it's one of the best Steelbooks this year, gloss finish, front and back embossing/ debossing, and a unique design!
Quick video of the steelbook. My copy has a bit of flex on the front cover- stays 'popped' out tho so not too bothered.
