The stock was around 900 when it started shipping this past weekend. Cancellations probably bumped it back up over 1000. Once more people get a chance to see this in person and in pictures remaining stock should go fast.

After I saw the in-hand pics, I cancelled my order. The gloss and embossing are pretty nice, but the design is overall very underwhelming. I'm not sure if it's the use of just two colors or the fact that the cover is 50% text or something else. :dunno:

I still have the German steel on preorder, not sure if I'll cancel that or give this a chance in hand. Still a bit undecided about this steel really.

its a decent enough steelbook I guess, to look at.
But its so flimsy.

I know plenty of other steelbooks have that "popping affect" on the front caused by embossing, but this one takes it to a new level

There has to be some compromise I guess if you want a lot of heavy embossing. I for one will take that 'popping effect' any day if it means we will see more of it.

After all the glowing reviews on here, I was really looking forward to getting this.

Then it turned up.

Do people *really* think it's a fantastic-looking steelbook? Very disappointed in it. It's a very dull golden hue, not a shiny bright yellow colour like I've seen photos of.

Plain front, uninteresting design and fairly flimsy to boot (I can lightly press the front of the steelbook and it noticeably buckles).

Scorsese could film a man taking a dump on the toilet for 2 hours and I'd probably watch it, but the steelbook itself? Dull.

Did you open the Steel? When I first saw it I thought it looked good but not as amazing as I was expecting. Once you open it you see how nice it is, I think the back is even better than the front. The reflective dollar signs look great! As for the steel being flimsy there's nothing that can be done, that's just a side effect of heavy embossing. It weakens the metal so makes it pop in and out easier. For me it's one of the best Steelbooks this year, gloss finish, front and back embossing/ debossing, and a unique design!:)

Quick video of the steelbook. My copy has a bit of flex on the front cover- stays 'popped' out tho so not too bothered.
(*Disc also has German & Spanish 'lossy' audio...not lossless dts Master Audio as mentioned in the video).
