It's matte

Had a feel of the one in the HMV store in Manchester

Pic #5 with his fingers at the top makes it look grey/silver to me.

The other good thing I noticed was It was a clean front with just the title and no 3D plasyered all over it

I'm so glad that there really is no 3D on the front/spine, and I am super happy that it is a 3-disc Steelbook! My plan is to put the Unrated Cut, Theatrical Cut, and DVD inside! Whoo hoooo!!!!
