if you go back 2 year's its just a few months before play.com started rolling them out,120 in that year or so. they sold out cause they were good prices iron man 1 and 2 for 10.99. steel. (that pun was awful) i think it evens itself out in all honesty,yes because start to collect steelbooks and learn about them but a lot of people stop too,if you look back on the old play.com steelbook threads you will see a lot of members who like me and you both had a lot of posts on hidefninja and now you see no sight of them,i think it evens itself out
and to be honest,you saw they are making loads of them for all that extra money,but have you seen zavvi recently? at some of the prices they are flogging them off they are making a loss,they barely have any space left
I don't tell people about SB's because if everyone and their momma knew we wouldn't have any...oh wait....

I Agree with you on that some are only getting steelbooks to make a quick buck
How many of them now are stuck with there steelbooks
I myself collect steelbooks as film fan to open and view and enjoy but my bank balance is getting hit more and more and postman must be wondering at this stage when I will be opening a shop with the amount of zavvi white boxes he delivers
This is still sjrprisingly available across London Fopp stores. Just spoke to the covent garden branch and they have confirmed 50 plus In Stock for those interested. Priced at £23.
I am going to have a look in few hours time and will report back.
Pls do Igans.....do confirm if these look good or have these defects which u report of. If it is worth it i may go up there this weeknd.
Were the defects not on the back cover (which would be hidden under the J-card)??
Correct but Fopp are used to stocking opened copies. So we have an option to put through the OCD-Scope.

Same story here. I was allowed to buy only 1 (this will obviously be for myself). There were only 2 or 3 left on the shelf. One had a dent on the top left hand corner, one had a torn shrink wrap with some hairlines scratches and one seem to have some paint chip on the edges. So sorry guys.

2-3 really mate? I literally left the store about an hour ago and they seemed to have about 30-40 of these behind the counter. Word mustve got around and people must have taken the stock in multiple purchases. I got away with two mint ones ....and they did look all MINT from what i saw.
Really, I saw few on the bottom shelf. Didn't even know that they had so many behind the counter.
Maybe I should have tipped other customers who were shopping to buy on my behalf.

You need to understand that this is not a brand new title or a future dated title where the subject matter is discussed quite often. This thread will hardly be active if it weren't for the recent conversations about spotting it in various stores.
