Can't handle the invoice for this until end of January after going a bit OTT on presents this Christmas!! haha :naughty: I hope Blufans take allllll the time they need to get the manufacturing issue sorted with Scanova!

I second that, March or April would be fine but just because we want it it'll bite us in the behind and they will invoice next week :hilarious:

I know how you feel BradG1984!

I didn't put myself on the group buy for this because I didn't think I'd be able to pay for it, but with the delays I think I should put myself on the list...

any words as to where they are in the remanufacturing process ? fixing the border, the embossing and the finish treatment ?...Kevin last stated he would be fine with a high quality Matte Finish, did they go with Matte or Gloss Finish as it was supposed to be done at first ?!

Please don't start again matte/gloss conversation again . We still waiting for confirmation. And I wouldn't quote Kevin privet opinion as a fact (he say he can live with matte finish but not with oversized border) so for me this is only he's opinion atm.

I was only asking if anyone had heard anything, wondering if I had missed the post in regards to the issue update as I don't follow all updates on them (because I am getting them no matter what)...but you are right, I know what it is like to start something by asking a question and it is not my intention

if i'm not mistaken the fact that everyone who joined the GB and have not cancelled this so far might not have their copies :/
"
Hi Kevin thanks for the update. Just had a question, since the print run is lower than the Iron Man print. Will everyone who joined your group buy be able to buy the Thor Blufans steelbook? Or some members will not be able to get a copy do to low print? Thanks"

(kevin's answer below)
that is something I can NOT promise. But in case of any drop-outs, the chance is still quite possible.

I think A LOT of customers will not be pleased if Thor turns out to be fully matte, including myself. I joined the GB's because they were to be FULL gloss.
Somehow I think Blufans Would KNOW if THOR 1&2 and CAP 1&2 were Matte, they would have a mini-revolt on their hands. I'd like to think they are not that stupid. And the redoing of THOR and IM leads me to believe they very much have quality control on their minds...

I messaged Kevin strongly advising that they at least spot gloss Wall-E, if not I think I'll cancel. Same goes for Thor. I got a reply.

What do you think?

I KNOW I LIKE THE GLOSSY FINISH MYSELF, BUT THE DECISION IS MADE BY SCANAVO WITH TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT ATTIUDE. WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO.

I'm not really sure I am understanding this... When Blufans (or HDzeta, or whomever) put in an order at Scanovo, with their designs- Scanovo gets to decide what the finish is?!! And the actual company putting in this order has to live with it?! I can't imagine a company can operate that way. If I order 100 sunburst Gibson Les Paul guitars from Sam Ash, and they say 'yes- but they will be blue instead, and spray painted' they will not get my business now or ever again. I find it hard to believe that Scanovo do as they please, and that Blufans will just take it.
I have no idea of the dynamics of Scanovo as a business, but that would be a great way to go out of business....

I really hope the company behind Futurepak uses these as opportunities to come with stunning designs like Godzilla, TMNT etc.

No competition sucks
Great post. Competition is the only thing that brings greatness. I may be wrong (and please correct me fellow Ninjas if I am) but before Scanovo sued Viva Magnetics from making their own 'metal media' products, wasn't Viva responsible for introducing the Embossing/debossing of metal mediabooks? (Bringing an exciting new dynamic)
Competition = Good. Cornering the Market = Zavvi (that = bad, folks!;)).

Just out of interest those who plan to keep it sealed would you be put of matte finish? even if the slipcover was great?
For those who keep their steelbooks sealed, their collection will forever be
Schrödinger's Cat's steelbook collection...
It's both Matte AND Glossy on the inside. You will never know until you open the box.
