I have to say I was very surprised that people actually lined up outside the door for this release where I live. I guess the steelbook market is starting to increase dramatically here. I even saw a Best Buy commercial the other night advertising the new Catching Fire steelbook coming. Hopefully this leads to more great US steelbook releases.

Yup looks like it either sold out in IL entirely as no Shipping or Store pickup available. And selling out in many states.

I think the biggest selling point is the price. If this was $27.99-$29.99 it probably wouldn't sell as fast.

Yep. $23 for this is a steal! And I will say, the quality control on this one was a lot better than normal. Not a paint chip dent or ding on all copies I looked at. Just some slightly off centered spines. Great job!

Funny thing happen when I got my order.. There was only one left in display so I grabbed it real fast cause I like to have one sealed and one open. When I was walking to the back to get Gravity in 3D some bald creepy guy was following me through all the rows I chose to walk through. I then realized he wanted to see if I would put it down and walk away from it... well I couldn't miss this chance to screw with someone, so I started walking around all the movies, computers, TV's, Video games, Washers and dryers.. but he kept on following me I finally decided I had enough so I went to the Pick up line and got my order. He stared me down till I left! I was seriously thinking I was going to get robbed at my car

Honestly, that happens here as well. But in the trading forum. I've yet to see someone who has extra copies of a steelbook part with it for cost. They all sell it at current market value.

A story to share from my son who went around this morning to pick up copies for our HDN group buy:

He went to the Northgate BB store in North Seattle to pick up an in-store order. He decided to check out the display to see if there was any available and encountered a small group of customers circling the display. Wondering what they were looking for, two of them said, "Thor 2 steelbook!" Two others piped in and said, "We heard on Blu-ray.com that it is very limited and will sell out." Then my son said, "You heard right but you missed the most important tip available only on Hidefninja.com - you should have ordered online for in-store pickup" and promptly walked over to the pick-up counter to grab his copies and waved to the frustrated looking crowd while on his way out.

I got up at 6:30 am and placed two orders at two different BBYs

By the time I got to the first one, it was out, in fact there was only one copy on the display. I am assuming the rest were done online by store pickup. The second store, as I walked in someone put one back on display and I grabbed it. There were no more copies any where. So I just went to pay for it and then to pick up my other copies.
