A story to share from my son who went around this morning to pick up copies for our HDN group buy:

He went to the Northgate BB store in North Seattle to pick up an in-store order. He decided to check out the display to see if there was any available and encountered a small group of customers circling the display. Wondering what they were looking for, two of them said, "Thor 2 steelbook!" Two others piped in and said, "We heard on Blu-ray.com that it is very limited and will sell out." Then my son said, "You heard right but you missed the most important tip available only on Hidefninja.com - you should have ordered online for in-store pickup" and promptly walked over to the pick-up counter to grab his copies and waved to the frustrated looking crowd while on his way out.

HDNinja Rules!!

Awesome!!!! :hilarious: :scat: :D

Were they in costume? :hilarious: Ninjas descend on Best Buy...EEK! :p

A lot of adolescents/younger adults in line for the CD release. I wonder what they would have thought if I joined all of them in line dressed as Thor :hilarious:

Lol the one in Fox Hills Mall? that place is tiny. Or you mean the one by Sony Pictures?

Yeah, the one at Fox Hills. I don't usually like going to that mall, but I figured my chances were better there because everyone would go to the bigger stores.

Funny thing happen when I got my order.. There was only one left in display so I grabbed it real fast cause I like to have one sealed and one open. When I was walking to the back to get Gravity in 3D some bald creepy guy was following me through all the rows I chose to walk through. I then realized he wanted to see if I would put it down and walk away from it... well I couldn't miss this chance to screw with someone, so I started walking around all the movies, computers, TV's, Video games, Washers and dryers.. but he kept on following me:hilarious: I finally decided I had enough so I went to the Pick up line and got my order. He stared me down till I left! I was seriously thinking I was going to get robbed at my car :hilarious:

:emb:mg: :hilarious:

Good that you got your copy

That store is a good one, I used to work down the street from it and when a new release came out I would go and it was always well stocked. Some of SBs were even available at 6 or 7 PM when I got off from work.

Went to five stores today, first one at 10:05am and didn't see a single copy. I did, however, see BBY employees sticking large 'store pickup' stickers on the front of several copies at the first store I visited. They covered half the front covers so ruined it if the buyer was a 'sealed' collector.

If everything works out I should have 13 copies on hand. 3 for me, 1-3 for real life friends, potentially leaving 7-9 for the GB.

That is as long as all the copies are in HDN Seal Of Approval condition.

If I remember correctly my location just wraps them with a sheet of paper with my information on it and taped. Not sure if those stickers your referring to are something new.

Was lucky enough to get one. Couldn't do the store pickup before I had to leave to take someone to airport. Thought if I got to a BBY around 10am I could probably find one. Got to a suburban Chicago one at 10:25, already gone. So quickly ordered one for store pick-up at a BBY closer to my home. Was a little worried they may grab the regular version on accident, but got to my local one around noon and it was ready and waiting, from what I understood it was the last one though, whew!

Heavens! I haven't seen The Dark World yet and considering a steelbook is available in so many countries I'm really surprised at how quickly this has sold out. It's 2.30pm in California and Best Buy shows this as 'unavailable'. I think those that said the $23 price point was influential were right.

Finally got this so now I gotta wait till next week. My gravity 3d steel comes out and both hunger games steels. I need to check to see if my 21 jump street and hotel transylvania steels came in.

My local BB just tapes the sticker's sheet to the item so it's easily removed and doesn't affect the wrapping at all. They used to just fold the paper over the BD but changed that recently.

I've never seen the sticker thing before until today. Always had mine wrapped with paper in the past, as well.

I have to get home and carefully remove it, but who knows it will be easy to do so. They put it on every item, including my amarays. Luckily I managed to take it off he Thor slipcover and Gravity.

I told everyone at BB today to quit using that!@#$%! sticker OR put it in a plastic BB bag then seal it with the sticker.

This is how I've gotten this off rather successfully;
Pick at one corner closest to the Features decal and slowly remove the sticker.

Once you have cleared the Features decal, pull the sticker quickly. I know this sounds backwards, but when I tried to take that sticker off slowly, it stretched the shrink wrap and made it look like my grandma's stockings all loose around her ankles! EEK!
