There is no need for group buy from kimchi. They ship worldwide. So anyone can order directly from them! I could only get online at midday and so was too late to the party!:(:(

I think yeslek meant if someone is not able to order himself that a helpful member would order an extra copy for him - there were some requests what I've read.

exactly what Engelskind said :)

I know they ship worldwide, but due to time difference not everyone who wanted a steel was able to be online to get one, so its always nice for a group buyer to stash away a few copies for those that missed out first time round.

I dont see how a group buy would help really, people sat on there laptops at the time of it going live missed out so if someone got extra copies for a GB then even more people that tried to get a copy when it went live would of missed out, then when the GB goes live it would be sold out again in 30 seconds because of limited copies available in the GB like the last monster kimchi gb there was. I missed the GB for it even though i was on my laptop signed in to HDN and waiting, only about 30 copies were available so i got to miss out twice, as it took me 30 seconds to click on the gb type in my request and i was about 35th in the list. :(

Sorry to hear that but at least you HAD a second chance
plus, most GB's dont go too high meaning there would still be at least 900+ of this title available for everyone else. Thats a smaller % lost to GB's on the larger print runs.

So long as ebay scalpers dont get copies, I'm fine with GB's going to fellow collectors

is hard called a second chance 30 seconds gb :)
You should realize Steelbooks Collector's world is not only HDN, many Collector's still looking for steels on ebay or directly from retailers .

Next Time Kimchidvd release very limited copy like MU, Thor 2.

I will host GB to make HDN member to secure their copy at least one per members..

Tony and I did not know it went so fast because it's not 500 print run.. I guess that at least anyone can pre-order this within 1 and 2 hours but 11 min all has gone....shocked...

I feel sorry that member can not order at right time even They are all night long.

Good call Choi...

My thought process going in was that half would go on sale and the rest at a later date. But the problem was the lenticular version sold at 3x amount. Possibly 2x might've been better but wouldn't last anymore longer. At least there more members had a better chance of getting a copy.

I agree with this. Not saying everyone brought 3 a piece but I think it might have helped the guys who had it in their baskets and then were gone when they tried to checkout.

Oh, I didn't know that there would be a lenticular and now it's gone :(.

I had avoided most Thor threads for a couple of weeks given there seems to be so many of them and I already had my pre-order in for the Zavvi one with 10% off/free shipping — I know, Zavvi is the antichrist, but it was the cheapest way to get this steelbook, which is the same as everywhere else minus the titled ones at Best Buy/FS and Blufans - nice, but I can't afford another GB now.

I was a tad disappointed I missed out on the lenticular here, but then I think that's an extra €14 (£11.45/$19.18) for a (beautiful) slipcover and a plastic slip with the exact same steel underneath - I don't care about the 6 art cards or the 12-page booklet, and I'd prefer if the numbering was done on the slipcover rather than on a card.

And then I looked at what time it went live : yesterday at 11 AM in the UK. That means 12 PM in France, and at that time I was in the middle of an accounting exam (which I think I failed miserably, btw :D). So no regrets, I couldn't possibly have ordered it even I had known when pre-orders were going to start (and I got a reply to my email request 7 minutes after I sent it, not 7 days :p).

Sold out in 15 minutes, that's just crazy, probably a new record EEK!.

This blows past the first wave of Kimchi's Le Grand Bleu steelbook on July 8, 2013 between 2:00 AM and 2:42 AM (French time). I had problems paying *, so I got my order for the lenticular of Le Grand Bleu during the second wave (which lasted at least a full day on July 16).

* For all the praise they get, Kimchi's website sure is archaic, it feels like 2003 all over again, especially when you compare to the Plain Archive's excellent website where my Wrestler order, a few minutes after it went live, was as smooth as salted butter.

For Thor 2 there won't be a second wave, but there's Choi with a GB, so that's pretty nice, but I think I'll leave you guys tear yourself apart for the last remaining copies and be content with my Zavvi steelbook, which IS the same as this one :D (unless Auchan wakes up and announces an exclusive, like Avengers and Iron Man 3).

long.

I knew this was going to sell out instantly which is part of the reason I was the first to suggest to limit each steel to one per member.

The only reason it took 11 min was because the site was going slow. If the site was fine I bet it would have sold out in under 3 minutes.

Probably a record for 1000 print run. However, I remember the old days when ordering a steel from Korea was just a stressful. The White Batman steels were gone in about 8 mins (half the print run of Thor). Pure chaos!

I know what you mean about the servers but I am not sure how easy it is logistically to overhaul these.

From my own experience, never give up your money for one item that can be surely received somewhere at a later point for a reasonable price. That's exactly how I missed Die Hard and Avatar KR steels and eventually got them after few weeks for 20$ more (instead of 150 / 200 most ppl asked for).

Otherwise whats the point of preserving collectibles such as Thor DE/UK or Iron Man FS/DE after years of collecting.. And paying for a recent release from 2014 for the same price. Absolutely pointless.

So between 30 releases it happens that you missed one ;)
Don't loose your heads over a steelbook release this years.
Nothing would be the same as it were with the first ones couple of years ago.
