I do know that the Taiwan slip rocks but many bought it for reselling and ended up in facing losses. Same story with Iron Man 3.

Yes true but what people didn't realize and couldn't know is how popular it would be, this is the type of steel that you will see it's real value in about 3 to 5 years, it's a long term ''wait and see'' as so many copies were pressed.

And yes this release Rocks !!! don't care about it's market value, it's one of my Favourite Thors

Long term wait is good during the inception of a format. 3-5 years down the line we may have 4K or something else superior which MIGHT devalue our collection.

I do respect that you don't care about the market value but it is an inconvenient truth that a vast majority of us collect Asian releases for reselling under the assumption that they may do better in future. Of course, it does makes sense to buy an extra copy, sell it for a little profit and use that for future purchases but I think we are in the end of that Golden period.

Btw, I do have this in my collection but I have now become extremely cautious in buying early as these become available for a lesser price elsewhere. That's how it has been with many Taiwan Steelbooks in the past 2 years.

you know I respect what you think, and I agree that the times of grail release will be less and less but there still will be very sought after steelbooks. Of course when I buy I want it to at least hold it's value, that's good enough for me and if it gains some, than all the better. When I buy, it's because I love the movie and the release, I keep mine sealed(again that's another discussion in the other thread). I tend to love Asian Steels personal preferences but it is true that amazon.jp releases as previously discussed with Psychoscot do not hold their value like they used to (for example Captain America Amazon.jp ltd ed that became a grail release)...we might see this again or a fluke but japanese release do not hold their value like they used to.

I collect for myself, not for reselling, but for the love of the steel. I buy Amarays also as some slip cover are just too beautiful. I collect For beautiful things.

My point is buying these early at a higher price thinking it will go OOS and regretting at a later stage. Jsdvd has been playing this on off tactic and we should be making decisions wisely. Oh I forgot to mention that IM3 with the mug sold for similar price.

That's the risk if you think it's going to be rare and picking up multiples...I'm guessing the resellers are off loading and cutting any loses.

Collectors are still going to pre-order just to secure their copy and have it shipped on release day.

Noticed JSDVD doing this business tactic but you got to admit this and Cap2 are stunning so who cares[emoji1] however prices going up/down is how the cookie crumbles... Noah TW disappeared quickly figure that [emoji6]

I know this isn't really the thread for it so apologies in advance, but I'm wary of auctions ending just before payday. Most people just don't have spare cash until payday and there's been loads of steels released this month. I take your point though @lgans316 that price is brutal. Someone picked up a great deal.

I love the slip for this and looks great sat next to IM3 and Capt 2. It more than makes up for what is essentially a lackluster steelbook. If they do a similar one for Guardians I'll be more than happy.

Is the steel embossed / debossed?

Holding this release is quite something, the steel has a far better finish than the North America version and it has a Killer Slipcover with Golden embossed lettering and also covers the spine all written in Traditional Chinese... I have both version and holding them side by side the Taiwan version is by far the better quality version. Also if you have the Taiwan CA2, side by side on a shelf they go very well together(another stunning releases with embossed/debossed treatment glossy finish and again a killer slip that blends so well into the steel) and with a thick, tight shrink wrap(again much better quality than the north America version) you need to own them to understand what I truly mean.

Thanks. I am bidding the SG version but looking at this Taiwan version now. Except the slip, both looks the same

They are, all Thor 2 steels are the same except NA/CA... That's why so many love these TW slips because they make the steels unique, this one is great looking btw. My favourite is still Iron Man 3 ;)

Pictures does not do the slip any justice, when holding it in hands, is when you can see how beautiful this 1/4 slip Taiwan is, I have nominated this Taiwan version as one of my top steel of the year

Thats a great looking steelbook I remember buying this a while back ago the slip goes perfectly with it and artwork and colours all look great together its well worth having in a collection... [emoji41]
