to be fair HMV were by far the 2nd biggest retailer of media and media related goods in the UK (Play were the 3rd, The Hut group 4th) and importantly they were also the biggest (500+ stores) and only high street retailer.

The problems they had were caused by stupid management, getting into online retailing late, trying to get involved in live entertainment rather than just recorded, poor cash management etc etc.

Yeah but wheres the proof they got designs changed? So they changed the Thor steelbook for the whole world who released it?! I dont think so

The artwork is what it is,I don't have an opinion either way - It could have been better,it could have been worse.
What pisses me off is that I don't want a 3D disc,but I do want a UK/ English language Thor 2 steelbook.
Why cant they have a standard for these things.
Maybe something like
Steelbook 2D disc £ 16
Steelbook 2D disc + DVD £ 19
Steelbook 2D disc + DVD + ultra violet etc £ 21
Steelbook 3D disc + 2D disc + DVD + ultra violet etc £ 25

that's an awful idea. If you are that against having a 3d disc then ebay it

Disney are pretty much going title-less for some of their steels in what may be a step to save money worldwide so they don/t have to alter artwork. Why would they then release 4 different steels? If you were to ebay the 3D disc you'll probably recoup a tenner.

another zavvi turd... :p

Looks like its gonna be a worldide turd not just a zavvi turd, i like the front and if you dont open it then the back doesnt really matter, i will open one and keep one sealed, i rarely look at the back of my steels anyway, i keep the j cards on them and polly bag. :p:p

I scratch my head in disbelief when people say they will still buy this monstrocity, but for someone to say they will buy 2?!?!?!? EEK!EEK!

That's £50.00!!

Tastes is everyone's thing. I find it pretty even if I am very disappointed by the thumbnails on the back of steelbook. I preordered while the French track is not included. I collect Marvel's steelbook and I love the movie, so I bought the steelbook, it's as simple as that.

I collect Marvel Steelbooks and I love the movie but I refuse to buy this turd at full price, so it's not as simple as that.

I have every Marvel steel and was really looking forward to this , esp when the film was very good, however I am not going to pay full price for this. The spine i can just about live with, but the back is awfull, god knows what the inside art will be like. I will hold off as this will defo drop in price like IM3

Same. I will definitely buy for completion purposes, but not for £25. I'd say £15.99 since it is 3D.

Whilst I realise my idea would not be very practical for suppliers/manufacturers But how can anyone say that it's a bad idea for customers ?
When was "customer choice" ever a bad idea ?
Surely steelbooks will have a better future if they are also bought by teenagers that have less money to spend than adults that earn a salary !

I will buy the Zavvi Thor steelbook.I can easily afford it,but I have no use for the digital copies or the 3D disc at this time.

I would not sell the 3D disc because it would leave me with an incomplete steelbook and I expect I will have a 3D set up sometime in the future.

That's the problem though. Some will buy any old crap just because it's Marvel. Disney will carry on producing these crappy Steelbooks if people keep buying them.

because 5 different steelbooks for one film would be stupid? it's simple, you either buy the one with all the features or don't. jeez i've seen people moan about lack of features, but wanting less? that's something new. hey buddy i don't have a use for uv code either, and 3D really isn't my thing. but im glad they are on there. it makes the steelbook superior
