Watched this on Netflix over the Christmas.

Whilst it was OK, I'm not sure I'll drop $50+ on it now. The production felt a bit TV movie-ish in parts. It's just lacking something but I'm not sure what...... :dunno:

I thought it plodded and was completely devoid of tension or excitement - the polar opposite of the game franchise in fact.

Yeah, they definitely could've ramped it up a bit or made it a bit darker.

One of the best bits that made it feel tomb raider-y was when she escaped from the camp and ended up in the plane.....

I wouldn't worry doesn't look like this is happening anymore anyway (n)

I'd love a sequel as well, one of my favourite films from last year and was really looking forward to this release from HDZeta :(

You don't think this is getting a sequel?
Chances of this getting a sequel are pretty slim. It wasn't very profitable for the studio (might not have even been profitable at all if they had a hefty marketing budget).

We didn't hear anything for Blade Runner: The Final Cut then got beauty shots a month before it came out, and that was announced before Tomb Raider IIRC so if this follows about the same path then there's no need to forget it just yet.

This movie may not have done amazing box office in the US but China definitely liked it.

I got tired of waiting and I just dropped $60 on the Japanese edition. People can bash this movie all they want, but this was the best video game movie I've seen to date.

HD ZETA are probably just too bogged down with the Dark Knight releases right now to focus any attention elsewhere. They're hardly the best at keeping us updated at the best of times!

I'm sure we'll hear more in the coming months.....

Also bought the Japanese version because the disc art is nice, and put them all in my modded Steelbook with the soundtrack CD.

Really hoping we get this HDZeta slip, eventually.

does it come with cards?

does it come with cards?

The Japanese 4K/3D release came with the map, featuring six pieces of concept art in a grid on the back of it.

The Korean 4K Steelbook came with the same concept art but split into art cards with pieces of the map on the back of each, and when arranged they create the map from the Japanese one sheet but larger.

I'd much rather have art cards from the movie instead of concept art, so here's to HDZeta coming through. They've got a lot on their plate with the Dark Knight trilogy right now so I'm not worried just yet.

Forgot to mention I bought the slipcover edition because the art was different and I liked it.

Did the steelbook come with 4K+3D, or did you customize?
