I wonder how these will be packaged for shipping, as having a cardboard slip case could mean a very tight fit in the regular steelbook shipping boxes.

Yep, there's always the good old bubble envelope option - standard Zavvi packaging for jumbo steelbooks

Surely enough room in their usual white boxes or in the same style brown boxes in which some recent steels have been sent - worst comes to worst if the fit is too snug they can always leave out the foam strip wrap.
Goes without saying that regular padded envelopes are not ideal for steelbooks and hopefully Zavvi will have the good sense to not go down that route.
. . . and fingers crossed by the time Zoom starts posting their exclusive steels there won't be a padded envelope in sight . . .

You just watch ..... these will go out in bubble wrap envelopes as the highly intelligent clowns will think "oh it's got a slip case to protect the steel" we won't need boxes this time.

Yeah,, but much of the damage often happens in the post office's hands. I received a steel today from Zavvi that had a 60 degree kind in the end of the box where the lazy postman had decided to curve it into the letterbox. Luckily that end didn't have anything in it.
