I always used to be able to get the 10% code to work for numerous pre-orders when available..... Now, for the last few orders I've tried, it never f*cking works :facepalm::squint:

yeah i found this problem as well some times works as soon as it goes live then moments later what a surprise i no longer works nightmare :thumbs:

you need to be on the dot with pre-orders to use these codes. After a few minutes they disappear, same as Avengers AOU Lenti. One minute it worked, next minute the codes deactivated.

Disabled the codes have we again ..... well you know what SHOVE IT where the sun don't shine.
Absolutely. . . it would certainly be great if Zavvi were to take a partial leaf out of Zoom's book and leave the codes in place for a good 48 hours after each steelbook goes "live".
Not forgetting that codes are a luxury that retailers are not obliged to provide and which most don't (including Amazon and HMV).
Full credit due to Zavvi and Zoom however for free shipping which probably accounts for 10% of the cost of the item (or, to put it another way, Free Shipping = 10% discount).

For me it's a cheesy movie with a poorly designed slip.
Yes, but it seems that 75% (so far) of these slipboxes are just *replicating the steelbook art which is not really a bad thing but maybe not the best selling point for those accustomed / spoilt by top quality lenticular and other excellent slipboxes from the high end collector's editions retailers mentioned on a regular basis on the vast majority of these U.K. threads.

SAME ARTWORK:-

11326786-8444411205193918.jpg

. . . seems like it's 4 so far with MATCHING steel / slip ARTWORK and 2 with DIFFERENT steel / slip ARTWORK.
Matching = Universal & Paramount
Different = Universal & Paramount
. . . in other words no guarantees either way.

DIFFERENT ARTWORK:-

Spot on. Meanwhile other retailers are conjuring up leather slipcases and all sorts whilst Zavvi remain 6 years behind.

For heaven's sake, give them a break.

They are making an effort !!

This is a title than has been in demand for some time, the slipcase, same design or not, is a welcome bonus.
The retailer you are referring to, let's name them Manta Labs, are actually 'conjuring up' a plastic-covered slipcase - the sort of cheap crap you find wrapped around tatty furniture in tatty high street stores . Emphatically not leather.
And for that undoubted luxury and a few bits and bobs you are paying more than twice this price.
Each to their own; but the phrase "Horses for courses" also springs to mind.

I'm all for hammering Zavvi, or any other retailer if they mess up, or if the wares are overhyped/misrepresented etc. But here, they're serving an actual demand with a quite reasonable product at a decent price overall.

And yes, I've pre-ordered it :)

well i think it's something true in that response from zavvi. I believe that there hands were forced by the studio since only the paramount releases sharing the same art on steel/slip so far.
It's the easy way out. How come the other retailers can have different art on their steelbook slips?

For example: Paramounts Mission Impossible Rogue Nation (FAC) Terminator Genisys (FAC) and Saving Private Ryan (HD Zeta) are just a few from my own collection........

I think its been mentioned before but the 4 that have the same artwork (Ferris Bueller, Top Gun, No Country & Once Upon a Time in the West) are all distributed by Paramount. I'd imagine that has something to do with it, licensed artwork for slips & steels & whatnot.
Not sure who's the distributor on Quadrophenia though.

This is the first wave of Zavvi slips. I'd say if they sell well, distributors will see it as a worthwhile investment giving Zavvi varied artwork for slips & steels for future releases.

Then again, I could just be talking utter nonsense!
