Trivia Question of the Day Thread

I'm gonna start something see if you guys like it. I'll ask a random trivia question every day (unless im gone) and I'll keep track of who gets the most right. If this becomes something people like, I'll try and keep it going past the summer.

We'll have to work on the honor system here, since the internet has just about every answer out there. If you don't know it, please don't look it up and then post the answer.

I'm going to post these at random times too, otherwise some people might not ever get a chance to answer a question if they are busy same time every day.

I'll keep a running tab of points here. First person to get it right wins the point for the day. Only one guess per person per day.

That would be the ear! At one point I could name every single bone in the human body. Many many moons ago, I used to be smart.

My boss just had one of those tiny little bones replaced with a plastic one. Apparently whatever he had replaced was supposed to vibrate and cause you to pick up more sound waves. His didn't vibrate like it was supposed to so they lasered it off and put in a tiny little plastic thing and now he can hear better.... craziness!

The bone that you replace because it's not workin' so great is the stapes!

I know this because both my Dad AND Grandpa had to have a stapedectomy because of hearing loss referred to as otosclerosis.


Bumma. After the surgery though they could hear like a million times better. You're actually awake during the surgery and after the doc puts in the little replacement he whispers in your ear to see if it's fitted correctly. How crazy is that?
