If each BB is getting 8-10 copies, that means the run is probably close to 10,000 EEK!
I have a bad feeling a lot of these will be seen on ebay and the "rarity" will end. (hope I'm wrong though...picked up 4 myself - for trades, but one is for the wife/my collection :emb:).

eBay doesn't have that kinda of pull

Probably and there is also the possibility of those Best Buy stores in the boonies (apologies if this offended you) that did not order any. My copies are going to friends and relatives in Asia. They see this as exclusive as the Future Shop titles. Which begs the question - did Future Shop get this too?

You are a brave man chip! Bravo! :scat:

Futureshop did not get this

I got the only two at my store for members here. Almost became a problem - they had pulled the regular edition for my instore pickup order. :ohno:

Only took 20 minutes for them to resolve it... :(

I had to go to the dvd section of my best buy to find this! (haven't been there on a while. Lol) I don't think it looks as good as the new moon steelbook.

I have a bad feeling a lot of these will be seen on ebay and the "rarity" of this SB will end - similar to New Moon. (hope I'm wrong though...picked one up the wife/my collection :emb:).

10,000 sounds high

How many Best Buys in the U.S.?

I just googled number of Best Buys in US - 1150. Multiply that by 8 or 10 and it's 9200-11500. I can't image a lot of stores not getting them either.
(Please remember, this is just a guess based on what that one manager told ash in post #71.;))
Either way, it's a nice Steel and I'm glad I got it. Just watched it with the wife too - probably best of the four films so far. (If you like that sort of thing :emb:)

Just goes to show the power of the U.S.

Germany can get a run of 4000 steels and it takes weeks to clear stock.

The U.S. gets a steel and it is sold out first day. LOL.

and it's a G1 :ohno:

If i was president of marketing or home entertainment every release would be a steelbook because i should know how Apesh*t everyone goes domestic and international for them.

I don't think it will be New Moon bad. Although I did not get the G1 New Moon, they seemed to have a ton of copies of that one lingering around forever. With the Eclipse Steelbook, it was not the same story as it appeared much more limited. My guess is they lessened their run number after the New moon overstock. Breaking Dawn will probably be the same as Eclipse, more or less (which means now really all that "valuable", but not worthless either)
