As a side note-I have ordered from Grooves-Inc before in the HD DVD days, and very large qty's. Always packaged well and customer service was excellent. However, if Grooves Inc will get them, I am guessing other German retailers will get them, too.

I agree with your 2nd comment.

No one said these were listed wrong, but didn't confirm which leads me to believe it's because this site has put up the listings faster than other retailers etailers that plan to sell these. That being said, these titles seem very legit.

I think this may be it... here is some more text from German site-with auto translated:

"The "Steel Book Collection" will feature a uniform design that is appropriately kept in steel-gray and contains on the front cover each of the track and a scene image. The Steel Books are now available all in our database. The perfect pack shots of the special editions will follow, but probably tomorrow and then added quickly."

Yikes! We know they are Steelbooks. There's no need to play on that and make the covers look like metal. EEK!

If this art is anything near what the final will be, I think I'd rather just buy a regular Amaray version with a nice slipcover. :(

EDIT: IMHO, taking a "scene image" and slapping it on the cover is not exactly the kind of art we've come to expect form our favorite Steelbook releases. I mean, c'mon, hire an artist or get access to the studios existing artwork database for the titles, and draw some inspiration from the film itself. Meh.

The cases kind of remind me of instances where the studios released "special editions" of DVD's years ago-they would always go overboard with the slipcovers to make us realize it was "special" (when usually it was not, but instead just another opportunity to sell the movie "again"). I agree, Darc-if they wanted to do something to distinguish these as a special "series", they could have used a silver BD bar at the top (like JCVD, for instance), or just released them like other Steelbooks without the bar-just a special insert, or mark on the inside that it was part of the "Limited Ed Universum" series. It would be nice to have a chance at some feedback for them-seems even the most hardcore collectors are scoffing at these cookie cutter designs, and they may find they don't sell well at all, inadvertently causing them to think BD SB's don't work in the marketplace....buh.

Thank god!!! I was pissed the minute I found out Der Nebel was getting a re issue. I have 6 of em.

I think those steels are going to be rare. Rare as in nobody is going to have them in their collection because they are so damn fugly.:eek:EEK!

I was thinking the same thing DB. These sort of remind me of some of the 'Super-Bit DVD's' that were being sold several years back, as far as packaging goes.

Whoever is marketing these are trying to cash in on the fact that these are 'steelbooks'. However, they failed to realize that steelbook collectors buy steelbooks mostly because of cool art in addition to the steel cases. There are some great movies on this list that would sell like hotcakes because they are steelbooks, but not with art like this.
