I've seen it (twice), I love it and there is no way my copy will end up on ebay (so thats your 100% guarantee rendered useless)

This IS a risky purchase for blind buyers, that much is true, UtS isnt a blockbuster, it isn't going to play for weeks on end in multiplexes and trouble (lets say) Guardians of the Galaxy at the box office. It's a small (and I hate the term) arthouse movie and it will divide viewers - but one of my pet hates is people trying to push thier opinion of what's good and what's not on others

Give the film a chance - you might like it, you might not but the only way to know for sure is to watch it

I'm loving some of the comments on here, I've never seen a thread spark such controversy over one movie like this one. It's hilarious but at the same time irritable.

Come on haters, we're you really expecting something akin to a naked Johansson running around the U.K. destroying hapless victims ala Species with gunfire and big budget CG? Take a glace at the trailer and that will inform you of everything you need to know.
Like the majority of happy pre-ordering ninjas they clearly understand that it is indeed an art film.

From what I can see through various reviews it seems to be an extremely divisive movie and entirely all about the visuals. It's reminding me of 2001, Enter The Void or the recent Only God Forgives, much more of an experience in style rather than full on action or a exciting plot.

For me this is a blind buy, but only because I really admire the work of Jonathan Glazer and I have my utmost faith in his work (yes, even Birth) Based on this and from recommendations from friends with similar interests I put down my hard earned cash for this one and I have a feeling I'm going to love it.

I'm fully aware that everyone is opinionated and that's great, one mans sci-fi masterpiece may be Blade Runner whereas another man might find this slow and boring and may prefer the fun romp that is Men in Black (he's wrong :D). light criticism makes for great discussion, all this is fine, but to post on here telling others that they are stupid for paying top dollar for it is out of order. I know some are possibly throwing out a friendly warning to maybe inform some ninjas to save their cash but there are some real vindictive comments too.

If some people want to pay over €30 for this title that's their business let them get on with it, it's no crazier than paying between €80-100 for Iron Man or Thor.

Rant over.

I didn't much care for OGF, but Refn's film before that, Drive, is one of my favorite movies. That was remarkable stuff.

Went into the movie with low expectations and I ended up LOVING it. Weird mind-benders like this, Enemy, Silent House, The Nines, Donnie Darko and Southland Tales are my favorite type of movies. This IS NOT gonna be for everyone, but I loved every frame and the visuals and soundtrack were out of this world (no pun intended). It's one of those movies where you have to watch it at least a dozen times before you can finally start putting to pieces together.
The scene with the two men naked in The Void is one of the most terrifying scenes I've seen in film in a while.
I'm definitely keeping my pre-order and I can't wait to re-visit this again and again. :scat:

I too really like this type of film. Amazing bunch of movies you've just mentioned, I would love steelbooks of all the aforementioned bar Silent House (never seen it) Enemy in particular could look amazing!

so please tell we what you loved about it lord percy,
because it couldnt of been the bit when she was driving around in the transit
for all the movie, let me guess its for the the 2 moments you see her in underwear,
please dont tell me im missing the point of this movie because i know im not,
and you may well be the 1% minority that sees something in this
but 99.9% will fee the same as me,

This is a character study. It explores the her psyche during her transformation from being an emotionless killer from another world to starting to feel human emotions. You know that movies can just be about "people" and their journeys right? Not liking this movie is alright, but you didn't seem to "get it" at all. Now, I'm not going to say that you're opinion is wrong and mine is right, but you're mistaken and I'm not.

i obviously stand corrected anton,
yes i could see what was happening throughout the movie upto the very end,
but as you so eloquently put it (watching her transfom from an emotionless killer to starting to feel human) does somewhat make the film sound appealing and intresting,
about 1000 times more that what it actually is,
and that end of the day the film had no lift to it what so ever, there was nothing there to keep you engaged.
i understand everyone has there own opinion and my opinion is that this was 90 mins of my life waisted..

As you've already apparently wasted 90 minutes of your life, why waste more of it arguing with people that liked the film here?

Surely the intelligent thing to do is put it down as a loss and move on.

PS. It's wasted.

Amazon Germany is getting a limited SteelBook for Enemy and that looks to be the artwork they're going with. Got my pre-order in for this one as well.
