Hi All, I've renamed this thread, to allow anyone to post "fake" or "suspect" retailer or Ebay listings, so anyone can discuss/be warned. It allows traders to protect each other/discuss various listings that may or may not be authentic, officially supported Steelbook releases. -Digitalbabe.

If any of you guys out there noticed a signed copy of Machete just sold on Ebay for over 200 dollars.
Was this an official steelbook or was this a FAKE ????
Would be interesting to read some of your opinions......as I thought it wasnt released yet.

Fake - and if you look closely at the bottom corners, you can see some silver coming through there.

My guess is that it's a high quality sticker that's been printed.

plenty of these are being made looks like Lion King and others. I think they are real for what they are ...... but I think they are illegally done as studios arent involved and are receiving no royalties. I bet it doesnt even have official blu-rays inside.

I bought the wrong turn 3 pack just what's pictured except the guy said it was s steelbook with blu rays.now this was about a year ago and I figured it was fake but won it for 18.00 shipped.....well after about 23 days I got it....sure it looks nice but its dvd sized and no blu rays all dvd9s.....I tried them and they looked a little better than regular dvds of the movies but def not blu ray quality.I did a case through eBay and this jerkoff finally said JW would take it back but I had to pay shipping....ummm NO wrong answer.....well I let ebay take care of it...they refunded me and removed his acct..!apparently I wasn't the only victim. Well since they removed him I had no way to send back so I keep it as a reminder of what not to get cause all the fake ones look like this and have the same blu ray logo on top. I'll post pics if anyone wants to see what I'm talking about.

Yeah its more of a metal pack......it was free in the end so good deal.I keep It with the few dvds I still own since its a dvd-9/blu ray hybrid as you can see from pick of disc lol

I reported the Iron Man one on the phone, gave details and explained what he was up to.

Ive just reported him again. Hopefully thery will do something this time.
He was a bit smarter this time as he made the auction private, maybe he reads this forum and does not want the winning bidder notified

I was the winning bidder for this one But did not pay the price shown, got a much less second chance offer. The Original bidder must have realised it was fake and not paid, or he did not want the buyers identity known so the could not be contacted. I did not realise it was a DVD version, have not been collecting steelbooks for long.
But luckily it has not yet arrived so have lodged a claim with paypal. Already had a claim lodged with this seller as he refused to ship other items out unless I paid more postage.

Had a win on this one. Paypal just refunded the money
