What was your biggest 'steal' Steelbook™-wise? (and yes the pun is intended)

I think we needed another thread where you can tell the world about the greatest deal you've had for a steel. Could be a rare one or a special promotion or an item found in a pawn shop, anything.

i walked into a cash canada with a friend on a weekend last april and was browsing the blu rays they had for sale, and low and behold saw an iron man steelbook. paid a whopping $10 for it. was very lucky we walked in when we did.

We got ourselves a winner

Public Enemies FS Opened Mint for FREE (Was an x-mas gift from my brother, he got it for $8 at a pawn shop though, so all good )

Transformers ROTF FS Sealed for $50 from kijiji, not a super deal but I thought it was pretty good.

i think we need to add some time lines with these "steals"
if someone snagged an Iron Man for 20 bucks a week ago,then we need to report this person to the authorities
but if you paid it when it was first released,then the impact quite isn't there so to speak.the majority of the members here can probably agree when we were able to buy the G1 Sucker Punch steels for around 20 or 60 bucks a few months ago especially when a few weeks before,they were selling for around 300-400 dollars easily.so thats my biggest "STEALS" absolutely!

Well I had about 15-20 Sucker Punch CC when they were selling for $400 on the bay ; I gave them all away tho for free except 1... so I'm sure plenty of members here got some big steals. Some more than others as I started unloading them and then the WBshop announcement took place. I would say about 6 members here got them before that happen.

Haha! Reminds me of something that happened to me! I've bought an XBOX 360 Elite back in the day when they were impossible to find everywhere! Paid $800 for it on eBay or something.

The seller was in Mississauga, and he sent me a tracking number. I was supposed to receive it in 48h. 2 weeks after that, nothing. Contacted the seller numerous time and no answer. Opened a claim with paypal and they gave me a full refund. The seller never replied and never sold anything after that.

1 month after that, it showed up at my door! Got it for free

Biggest Steal: traded a CD that had no monetary value for Iron Man FutreShop Steel At the time, Iron Man was probably only valued around $60 tho.

Got Inglourous Basterds (FS) NEW/SEALED/PERFECT for $19,95 (Canadian) from amazon.ca a few weeks ago!! A marketplace seller was listing it under the rerelease, but with a comment like "different cover as shown and with dog-tags).

Seller was not shipping to Germany though so I had my good friend Jay from this forum to accept it for me and send it along! He did (BIG THANKS AGAIN!!) and 2 weeks later I had it in my greedy hands...$19.95 (got it the day after it sold for $208 on ebay )

From Kijiji a dude was going through a divorce and was selling his entire Collection of blu's for $10 each in his picture you could make out what looked like some steelbooks.

I got the big 3 Future Shop 'I' steelbooks

Iron Man $10
Indiana Jones $10
I am Legend (first release) $10

I also came across an original IB at Future Shop last year for $30 (mint/sealed), somebody just returned it without a receipt the first week after Christmas. Since it was still in the system they took it back.

I got another one, kinda.

A member who shall remain silent has spotted a rare steelbook on amazon.ca

The third party seller doesn't ship outside of Canada so the potential buyer asked me if I could put down my address for the reception and then forward to his country. Received it yesterday and it's absolutely mint! Don't know the selling price, but it's a fraction of what anybody would have paid on eBay or anywhere else. Here's the beauty:
