Maybe some helpful ninja who managed to get 2x copies could help you out, I hope you will be able to add this to your collection
I didn't even realise people were allowed to request multiple copies... I'm too distraught to read all of the posts and GB rules at the moment lol. I'm happy to see you also managed to get one though. :)

Thanks for the heads up... I really appreciate it! However, I only just saw your post and literally just missed out on the GB by a few minutes. The package looks great too! Absolutely gutted. :(

I think you should keep your fingers crossed about this. If the GB has been oversubscribed, then it was clearly a mistake to allow a maximum of 2 copies per person. A number of people have requested 2 copies, so if the maximum were to be reduced to 1 copy per person, that would hopefully free up enough to satisfy some, if not all, of those who have missed out.

I know those who've requested 2 copies won't be happy if that happens, but it's certainly more egalitarian than the free for all which has just taken place, when dealing with a GB of such limited availability.

I guess there's a chance that could happen, but I wouldn't expect anyone to go ahead and change the rules now... although, for such a limited release, I am surprised to hear that people were allowed to request two copies in the first place. I was also expecting a live time for the GB to be announced way in advance, so that people could plan/prepare, but that was my own fault for just assuming that.

Congrats to all those who managed to get one (or two) anyway... you've just secured yourselves a great looking edition for one of the best films of the last few years!

For those who also missed out... *GROUP HUG* :sorry:

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It won't do you any harm to put your name down for the GB as a reserve. That way, if more copies become available or the maximum is reduced from 2 to 1 copy per person, you won't dip out yet again. You'd be very sick if that were to happen.

I did, along with a few other people, but those posts have now been removed due to the GB being closed, so reserves clearly aren't an option unfortunately. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

It wouldn't shock me if the the GB was adjusted so that people who ordered two got reduced to one and a few new copies opened up to collectors. Just a thought....

Out of the all the requests almost 160 to 170 are single requests anyway (total requested amount seem to be 200) so almost all the members requested 1 copy only. Karel puts the GB rules of 2 copies per member for each film arena release when Print run is 500 and Higher. Exceptions for releases such as AASB and Elektra he has put a limit of 1 copy per member being that they were extremely limited.

Unfortunately the rules that were set up are common to Karel's GBs of 500 limited fa releases.
He always tries his best for each Group Buy. He has done all of his Group Buys with fairness.
It is not like members are not used to his Group Buy rules, this isn't something new, but regular.
Now how much will he be able to secure for those who entered the GB will be known tomorrow,
but people are aware of the rules when entering a GB. Yes it is not a nice feeling to miss out on a Group Buy, but we all do at one point or another.

Crap, was gone all day and when i got home I found out the GB had come and gone. Can't believe how fast that happened!

Oh well, you win some, you lose some... .would have loved to have a copy in my collection....

I don't know how I did that, but I did:( I checked this thread all the week end and all my monday , and even all my attention, I missed it :banghead:

Me two other than AASB this will only be the 2nd 2015 Film Arena Group Buy I have missed. Guess to Ebay I go, Carl is doing so much for us I can't complain. I'm also one of the idiots that Messaged Carl, I should know better I talked to the Collector last time. I was just trying to figure out about combined shipping because these FA titles weights have changed so I'm not sure what the best way to combine shipping until Carl gets copies in hand, I usually ship 3-5 at a time because I've bought so many of these.

Karel seems to have been able to secure around 200 copies, so I would say this is not a limited group buy. and out of the copies almost 160 to 170 are single requests. Karel almost took half of the whole Print run of film arena... Karel often puts similar GB rules for the releases that are numbered to 1000 copies. So looking at the numbers it looks fair, it is within the GB rules(and of HDN).

Yes it is not a nice feeling to miss out on a Group Buy, but we all do at one point or another.
Karel does not go back on his word, unfortunately the rules that were set up will have to be respected.

Having secured 2 copies for yourself before the GB even went live, I can see why you are opposed to the maximum of 2 copies being reduced to 1 copy per person.

You have, however, completely skirted round the HDN Group Buy Rules which allow for such a reduction to take place. Rule 4 of the aforementioned Rules states,

"Staff members or group buy hosts may ask that their participating members can only reserve ONE copy of any highly sought after item. Staff members may request that ANY group buy host set this requirement if the demand EXCEEDS the supply. In this case, users should be allowed one (SINGLE) copy each, until there are open spots. Then it could become first come, first served for any extras. Our Group Buy hosts try to make a copy available to as many collectors seeking a copy for their private collection".

Given that a number of people here have missed out on this GB due to it being oversubscribed, this strikes me as a clear case where the above Rule could be invoked, thereby allowing those members who missed out to obtain a copy.

Does anyone know when this goes live for sale online? I assume it will be nearly impossible to get one due to people who own numbers get to buy them first right? I've been on the website before but never had the need to use it because of Carl.
