NBC Cafeteria Celebrates Black History Month With Fried Chicken Special

twitpic_2-4.jpg

So who at NBC thought it would be a good idea for the special today to be, among other things, fried chicken, “in honor of Black History Month”?

Because, spoiler alert – it wasn’t a good idea at all. And now NBCU employee Questlove is bringing it to the attention of his 1 million plus Twitter followers.

Questlove, the band leader and drummer for The Roots (the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon) tweeted this picture from the NBC Commissary at 30 Rock, with the comment: “Hmm HR?”

Update:
@NBCU just tweeted:

@questlove http://twitpic.com/11d07s – The sign in the NBCU cafeteria has been removed. We apologize for anyone who was offended by it.

actually the gun was on the tour bus ... and he TOLD the police the tour bus was his and EVERYTHING that was in it ... he truly did rat on himself, and the only reason why he is taking this sentence is because thsi excact same thing got him arrested in Arizona and he is still going to court for it. Arizona will throw the book at him and not go lightly so he's taking this probably to buy him time for Arizona and hoping he can get a deal worked out there during this time in jail currently. Seriously, if AZ dont work with him and still wants to prosecute wayne when he gets out you can then say goodbye to wayne as im sure he'll get 3+ in AZ

3 years with out lil wayne doesn't even seem realistic to me at all right now he the only thing really going in rap , and young money which he owns and run's , plus him and bryant williams are buying up oild fields and are jumping into the oil buissnes and sponsoring athletes but hey people cant let others be on top to long right?i dont know why Ny is going so hard on him but a year is not alot and it could be knocked down t0 8 months with good bevhavior which he will get or they will have his trial for arizona as well like mystikal and just give him the full time of both crimes.

Walmart shopper does batting practice with 36 TV's

Look, we've all had rough days. Ones that we wish never even happened, in fact. But we've yet to be pushed to the brink where the only logical solution to blow off steam would be to take an aluminum baseball bat to nearly three dozen TVs that weren't ours. For whatever reason (the accused is pleading the Fifth), Westley Strellis waltzed into a Walmart just outside of Atlanta yesterday, where he proceeded to lift a bat from the sporting goods section and then demolish the screens of 29 televisions in the electronics department. Shortly after, he submitted to a pair of handcuffs and 29 counts of criminal damage to property in the second degree, and if the initial tallies are correct, he somehow managed to mar over $22,000 worth of goods.

well i understand his situation now since the last special they had on him after the guys killed his friend after an altercation at a club they where coming after him police raided dope houses and so forth and found his name on a hit list and everyone else on the hit list all ended up dead and he was next,so i guess he felt he needed protection for his family.but so many guns was still stupid just get an AK and call it a day .

but so many guns was still stupid just get an AK and call it a day .

OR he could have avoided the drug and gang scene completely and he would be like lots of other americans who don't need a fully loaded arsenal to feel safe. Why is it that so many rappers and professional atheletes feel like they have to play into these things.....

that's the whole thing i never got, the whole fight or beef wasnt even over drugs it was over words, they feel the need to keep the image up of people they grew up looking up to which in most cases where dope boys hew had the big cars the women the money the popularity but then don't realize when your balling there is always gonna be someone hew wants to take you out .and lil wayne will not have to cut his dreads or have his grill removed when he goes tp prison

We found out recently that Lil Wayne will not have to cut his dreads when he goes to prison, and we have now found out that he won’t need to remove his grill either. Check out what XXL are reporting:
Many speculated that Lil Wayne would be getting his diamond grill removed before going behind bars for gun charges, yet the rap superstar’s lawyer assures fans that is not the case.
In an interview with New York Magazine, Wayne’s defense attorney Stacey Richman, said that the rapper’s signature grills will indeed stay intact. While MTV News reported that the New Orleans-bred MC’s sentence date and jail term would be postponed due to dental surgery of a cracked tooth, Richman is unaware what the exact procedure is.
When asked why the surgery wasn’t done before the February 9 court date, Richman said Weezy’s dentist had to go on a last-minute charity mission to Nicaragua.

Apple Supplier in China Roughs Up Reporter

"A Reuters employee who was investigating Apple's legendary secrecy visited Foxconn's walled city-like facility in Guanlan, China, and was reportedly roughed up by security."

The reporter took a taxi to the facility and left the taxi to take photographs of the front gate and security checkpoint. When a guard shouted, the reporter hopped back in the taxi. The guard then blocked the taxi from leaving.

This is where it gets hairy. The reporter stepped out of the cab and insisted that he was within his rights to take photographs because he was standing on a main road. The guard grabbed his arm as a second guard arrived and both attempted to drag the reporter into the facility. The reporter asked to be released and when the guards refused the reporter jerked free and began walking off. That's when one guard pursued and kicked the reporter in the leg. The other guard threatened to hit him again if he moved. Within a few minutes a Foxconn security car showed up but the reporter refused to get in. That's when the reporter called the police.

The police arrived, the guards apologized, and the reporter left without filing charges. Then the policeman told the reporter, "You're free to do what you want, but this is Foxconn and they have a special status here. Please understand."

Now they are getting violent!

Steve Jobs Continues to Trash Talk Flash

Valleywag reports that during a recent iPad-promoting visit to the offices of the Wall Street Journal, Steve Jobs spent a significant amount of time trash-talking Adobe Flash yet again, and doing his best to get the Journal to move away from what he called "old technology." Just like Jobs's comments during the recent Apple Town Hall meeting, these comments are unconfirmed, but Valleywag claims to have heard from people who were present at the meeting.

Click the "read more" link to see some more tidbits from the meeting and some analysis of the remarks.

It bears noting once again that none of these quotes are confirmed, direct quotes from Jobs, but rather hearsay from others purportedly present at the meeting. That having been said, Jobs allegedly:

1. Continues to call Flash a buggy Mac crasher.

2. Called the platform a "CPU hog," a source of security holes, and a "dying technology."

3. Compared Flash to other technologies Apple and other companies have abandoned, such as floppy discs and CCFL-backlit LCDs.

4. Claimed the iPad's battery performance would decrease from 10 hours to a shockingly low 1.5 hours if it ran Flash.

5. Said switching the Journal's site away from Flash would be "trivial."

If these are direct quotes free of any embellishment from their sources, they paint an interesting picture. On points 1 and 2, Jobs's claim is mostly true. While some people claim to have had no issues with Flash Player on the Mac, in my experience Flash has been the number one source of crashes and poor performance on every Mac I've come across. Whether Flash is truly a "dying technology" or not is something only time will tell. For point 3, Jobs seems to believe that Apple's abandonment of Flash on its mobile devices is trailblazing in the same manner as the iMac's ditching the floppy drive twelve years ago; this one is arguable, as there were viable alternatives to floppy drives back then, whereas HTML5 and other Flash alternatives are still in relative infancy. On point 4, while the claim may sound outlandish, Jobs is certainly in a better position than anyone to know how well the iPad would run Flash.

Point 5, however, is the most loaded. As Valleywag notes, shifting a site that's heavily dependent on Flash for not only video but interactive elements like slideshows to another technology would be far from trivial. That's not to say that it couldn't or even shouldn't be done, and the Journal and others are likely to shift away from Flash despite the difficulties involved, but the amount of money, resources, and programming time necessary for the task are by no means as trivial as Jobs is painting them.

One thing is clear though: Steve Jobs is on a mission, and if his recent (alleged) comments are anything to go by, part of that mission is killing Flash once and for all. No matter what you may think of Jobs or his opinions of Flash, it's undeniable that when Jobs speaks, people listen very intently. It will be very interesting to see how Adobe responds to this latest salvo.

Jobs needs to shut the hell up...Mac crasher? wtf? maybe make a piece of software that's better rather than point fingers at everyone else. What a douchebag.

Whats up with the double posting today mexi? Trying to inflate those numbers artificially? I thought there was a time limit to prohibit double posting?
