This is the ugliest steelbook I've ever seen.

My interest has waned in steelbooks over the last few years the market has become saturated with mundane steelbooks following the same bland blueprint. Poster art on the front, character posing on the back, screengrab for the inside, rinse and repeat.

I don't buy as many as i used to, but this will be one i buy.

I've seen some of you go 'it's totally uncreative' which is embarrassing. It's like you've forgotten the meaning of the word, Creative is "relating to or involving the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something." This is exactly what this does.

The design's really clever. It's taken one of the most important premises of the film/character and turned it into a physical item. No it's not literally in the film, but it's a clever representation. it's taking a tiny item and seeing it from a new perspective. The entire steelbook is the sd card, the inside shows the inner workings of the s.d card and the back will be the back of an s.d card...also a steelbook isn't a bad representation of an sd card either.

This is much better than generic poster art, it's funny when they try and be creative, you folk label it as lazy. I'll tell you what lazy is, googling antman film posters, then slapping them ona steelbook and labelling it 'special'. I find it hilarious that you all want art like luke98 posted, that's lazy and generic as those images can be found within a minute of searching antman film poster.

not saying you can't like the generic poster art steelbooks, and i'm not saying the execution of this is flawless either. personally i want my collectible packaging for my films to be unique that requires effort and thought, not something i could find on google.

& I'm not the only one, the proof is in the pudding as they say, guardians of the galaxy was panned by many hi def ninja "specialists" yet it's one of the few genuinely sort after steelbooks launched since zavvi saturated the market.

I welcome original designs. they won't be to everyones taste, But that's definetly a good thing.

I for one love when a steel is creative and just doesnt have some generic poster art. But this is a pisspoor execution of trying to be creative. Yes, id rather have a posterimage on the steel than a failed and ugly "creative" take. Just look at it, its fugly as hell. Doesnt really matter how creative they try to be if it looks like a turd. Rethink it it and come up with something better that also LOOKS GOOD.

I would literally like this if it wasn't a blank steelbook with almost no significance to the movie other than having the title and a small image of the character.

Also, if they're going to stick with this, they should've at least had the decency to make it consistent. He's jump out of a hole in a SSD, and the inside is supposed to be the inside of the SSD, but there's no hole.

First of all, I actually like the design. It's not great but I like it better than generic poster art with Paul Rudds face on the front of the steelbook. All that being said, if I was given the choice between this one or @Noodles or @luke98 mockups this one would get the boot.

I like this. Obviously, I will wait to see it in-hand before final verdict, but for now it's fine. I liked the GOTG steels also.

Slightly larger pic. Looks like the SSD is at least a 1TB drive. The only thing that could salvage this mockup is if it was a functional SSD.

Yikes. I was going to say you did a good job of explaining your point in your previous post, but then you had to go and be condescending.

Also, they took inside and outside images of an SSD and a tiny image of Ant-Man and slapped it on a steelbook. I wouldn't call it creative. I'd call it clever and amusing. It made me grin. That's really why I'm buying it.

I'd love it if Target threw their hat in on an exclusive. It's not unheard of, both Best Buy and Target had different exclusive Steelbooks for Transformers: Age of Extinction

I actually like the design, but I'm in complete agreement with you, if you're going to simple you need to jazz it up with all the bells and whistles.

Wont make any sense after youve seen it either, as an SSD drive doesnt have anything to do with anything except that hes small.
