Reminds me of the nosferatu steelbook. ...

Good shout. At least Nosferatu had a nice border around the image though... whereas here they've just simply trimmed the sides off the original posters for no reason.

I wouldn't care but these films are some of the easiest to get right, the source material is already there, no need to get all arty, like the Indy steels slap the original art on them and give them a nice finish, sold.

I think @Snollygoster mock up is better than zavvi version.

Here is a mock up for Part 3, I think it would be cool to have the different license plates on the back or something? and Hill Valley town square at different time periods on the inside of each?

I agree with @Tacozilla, if you are going to crop the image then glossy black rather than bare metal with an embossed title is the way to go IMO.

Oh good grief! Universal, what are you thinking?

Seriously, the poster art on the front taking up the whole area. Not cropped, not zoomed in, not with the biggest title font you can squeeze on. Honestly, the Jurassic Park steelbooks were fine, they got it right with those (except maybe the back of the first one) so what was going through Universal's mind with these, God knows.

I've already got the first one from JB-Hi-Fi so I'll stick with that. I enjoy the sequels, but not enough to want them housed in terrible looking steelbooks.
