With the first live pics I'm not totally in love with the worn background of the rear and those paint drops, even that purple tone is too light and don't match so much the front.
The debossed scorpion is lovely, but i'd have liked a neat simple black background (or a darker version of this one) with that.

Agree with both you guys. Could be a case of poor lighting or they just really over-saturated the placeholder art, but the front isn't really popping with the kinda sheen I thought it would. Also feeling that difference in shade on the front and back that isn't quite having them match up so well. Would like to see more photos really.

Scorpion looks great though and the inside art is cool. I never thought I'd be so picky but when it comes to Drive I guess my standards are super high.

No Steelbook trumps another steelbook, it's personal preference. When I was a graphic designer I'd give the client loads of great designs to choose from and a lot of time they'd pick what I thought were the worst ones. Just look at the breaking bad steels, people like them lol if most people had their way the entire world would be covered in gloss. For me the artwork comes first, movie second, then finish. I personally think this artwork is stunning, really hope I'm not stuck at work when it goes live cause I'm not allowed my phone on me

I think the back looks okay in the actual photo but im not a fan of this release, I personally think the mondo will look better (IMO) but I do like that pink slip. I did like the lenti until I realised gosling has a weird face when it moves, kind of stretched and wobbly (just zoom in and watch it in action - proper freaks me out). The rest of the image is nice on the lenti. Preparing myself for mass abuse!

@Flloydo yeah the steelbook and extras look ok...nothing special and definitely not "frigging amazing!!!"

Mondo might come out looking better in hand as opposed to NM only because how nice the cover art looks.

Looks better than Maleficent IMO. To each their own.

You can see its bad lighting in those photos. The last photo that shows the scorpion is the correct lighting and shows the proper color balance.

I just think the purple spots and that dirty effect make it looks too bright compared to the front, even with lights from a different direction (scorpion closeup).
I like that little grain on the front artwork's pic, but maybe they'd have played a bit with the same worn out effect

I'm just a bit picky because there's PA involved here and I know they usually take really care of these kind of details

i think this nova/plainA steelbook is far superior to the mondo one.

the nova one oozes class, just like the film. the art compliments the film perfectly. its a serious film and the package reflects that.

the mondo one looks garish, cheap and cheerful. the art is alien to the film. its a moody film filled with a ambiance which the cold graphic illustration style of the mondo art doesnt capture. packaging the film with that art reduces it to a novelty.
