Even though it has some flaws and it's not the best Wes Craven movie, it has very good atmosphere throughout the film with James Horner score and quite good cast with actors like Ernest Borgnine, Sharon Stone, Michael Berryman. Definitely underrated film.

This like all Carry films is unique in it's Britishness. Nowhere else in the world could you make a film like this with it's saucy seaside humour and innuendos. Everyone is on top form but for me the highlight of the film and one my all time favourite funny scenes in a film is Terry Scot knocking on a farmer's door asking for milk. No other actor could have carried that scene off. 100% pure magic...... They really don't make them like that any more....

Time to play catch-up again...

FOCUS (2015)

A decent film that first displayed the great chemistry between Will Smith and Margot Robbie. The first half the film was very good, but the second '3 Years Later' half was mediocre at best and really drowned the film.

KILL COMMAND (2016)

Surprisingly good for a such an independent, low-budget film (the visual effects are superb). Had a real video game vibe to it. The story is so-so, but the action and effects make up for it.

I've seen this on a lot of 'Top 10 of 2016' lists, so it was about time to watch it. Personally, when it comes to modern warfare films, I've seen better. Nevertheless, it was still a good tribute to the men lost and I was pleasantly surprised by Michael Bay's work here. I also look forward to seeing John Krasinski as Jack Ryan now.

ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL (2016)
1n-png.127234
1n-png.127234

Mediocre... not that I was surprised since it was an online series that was released direct-to-video as a film. Both women (YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart) have great chemistry and it was fun at times. Worth a one-time watch for fans of superhero fare.

This was a fantastic animated film! How did I not see this until now? This film brought me back to Disney's animated masterpieces of the 1980s and 1990s. Great animation, fun characters, a thrilling story (though lacking character development), and a beautiful score. This is right up there with Kubo for best animated film of 2016 and easily tops Zootopia for me.

A very fun creature feature flick, though sadly, not as amazing as I was hoping for. I felt it to be way too rushed and too short (I'm hoping there's a longer Director's Cut out there). Not nearly as good as Peter Jackson's film, but it stands on its own just fine and nicely sets up the big 2020 battle with Godzilla (can't wait for that!!!). Definitely worth watching on the big screen. Read more of my list of pros/cons here.

A near-perfect film and one of the best modern warfare films out there. A great cast, great score, and mind-blowing cinematography. One of the most deserving Best Picture winners from the Oscars in recent memory.

Love your choice of films but I would disagree with The Hurt Locker. Saw it a while back on CH4 and I thought it was rubbish. A nice but flawed TV movie but in my option not worthy of an Oscar or even Oscar nomination. Maybe it's me but Oscar nominations should be exceptional films and sadly too many that win now for me personally are very very poor.

One thing I'll say about the original Planet of the Apes films they sure as hell don't do happy and this one is no exception. An astonishing bleak film for a commercial venture but superb in the process. One of the few films that breaks the laws of diminishing returns on a film series. Not as good as the 1st but way better than the second film. Love the ending. You just don't see it coming.

Red Scorpion (1988)

Action flick from the 80's starring Dolph Lundgren. Directed by Joseph Zito, the guy behind few Chuck Norris movies like Missing In Action. I have to admit I have a soft spot when it comes to these older action films, guilty pleasure of mine. Overall I thought the film was quite good for it's kind. M.Emmet Walsh delivers some hilarious lines in this film as Dewey Ferguson.

Dewey Ferguson: Man, what I'd give for a bacon-cheeseburger right now. Wash it down with an icecold glass of beer. Fuçking' A.

Kallunda: When we arrive at Porto Silva, there will be a celebration, and much feasting. Beer too.

Dewey Ferguson: Fuçking' A!

Lt. Nikolai: Do the americans all swear so much as you do?

Dewey Ferguson: As a matter of fact, in America, an american can swear whenever, wherever, however much he or she fuçk' well pleases! It's a little something we call freedom of speech, which I'm sure you russians aren't real familiar with!

Lt. Nikolai: We are free to swear.

Dewey Ferguson: Well yippee dee *fuçk*! Guess I've got you bastards figured out totally wrong after all! I'll take the first watch. Shít!

Fine Film:
Mediocre Characters, Questionable Character Motivations, Some Horrendous Acting from a Particular Brie Larson.
The film was also a bit tonally confused- certain scenes that I felt were supposed to be comedic fell flat entirely, and certain scenes that were meant to be tense wound up being confused with some unintentional comedy.
However, it is gorgeously shot.

Network (1976)

Such a great film with brilliant script and many good performances. The film won four Oscars back in the day, Best Actor (Finch), Best Actress (Dunaway), Best Supporting Actress (Straight), and Best Original Screenplay (Chayefsky). I also thought Robert Duvall gave a strong act as Frank Hackett. I really recommend to check out Network if you haven't seen it.

Are you sure it's called Nerve? Not Focus? Because the only movie besides Suicide Squad that stars Will & Margot is called Focus. Nerve stars Dave Franco & Emma Roberts ;)

I was pleasantly surprised by Kill Command as well. Felt like a good video game adaptation. What's funny is these movies that are not based on video games (example - Kill Command & The Call Up) seems to be better than movies that are based on actual video games. May be Hollywood should rip a page from these indie films?
