Disney should hire a "Title Placement Specialist"

If it isn't a steelbook printed without a title, they be giving you one with a misplaced/obtrusive title.

PASS for me...I have the Zavvi first print and the artwork is better IMHO

.

Maybe it's 32 of a new collection lol

Did the original zavvi release have 3D?

If so, what is the point in this re-release?

I think all the disney cartoons are going to be released with a Lenti magnet just like all the marvel movies. A new wave and theme. In otherwords lots of new collectors joining, an opportunity for the distributors to make some money. There will always be collectors that miss out on limited editions and always a chance of re-releases for those that missed out.

I like the spine, actually. Always nice to have a splash of distinctive color on the bookshelf in the midst of spines that mostly all look alike.

As for the complaints about Disney doing this as a cash-grab--is this really a surprise to people? :) Disney has forever done this bizarre thing of "releasing [such-and-such] from the vault, for the first time ever in an Unobtainium Edition, available for a limited time only!" It goes out of print, prices skyrocket, and then several years later there's another edition. I wonder how much demand there is for all those ultra-rare VHS editions now...

The only problem I have with this release is the price, which seems crazy. I am happy for another release of The Lion King, though, since the previous one came and went before I got into the hobby. I couldn't care less about future value and collectibility; I just love movies, and I think steelbooks are beautiful. I also like it when patience pays off for people who didn't pay big prices on ebay.

Re-releases are inevitable. I think what everyone is trying to interpret that it is a little early to do another re-release. 23 months is IMO a ilttle fast regardless if anyone has missed out or werent collecting at the time.

I agree, it's weird timing. If it were a re-release of Beauty and the Beast or The Jungle Book, that would make some sense, because of the live-action versions. But a live-action Lion King is a ways off yet.

Pass, they should be releasing new titles not rehashing old releases

Indeed. I still want them to release some of the missing classics as steelbook like "Bernard & Bianca 2", "The Great Mouse Detective", "Oliver & Company", "Fantasia 2000" etc. And "The Lion King 2" would be also great as a steelbook, as it's the best sequel from the animated movies.

I think a re-release is really weird here, since the first steelbook were really beautiful and most of them can't look much better in a new edition. Here is the first example with Lion King - the first one looks much better imo and I'm glad I have it since back then. It they really re-release now one after another, then I'll ignore probably all of them. I have already the really nice ones...only interested in titles that don't have a steelbook yet.

Massive pass for me

Can't believe they are re releasing this with a lenti........ Actually I can!

I'm sticking with the original, much prefer the art and not paying £22.49 (after code) for a lenti magnet that will sit on like @lgans316 has said a matte steelbook. They don't put lentis on gloss steels so this will be a dissapointment like the hulk steels (which do have great lentis)

I really hope they don't re release the Disney wave as matte Steels with lentis

I don't have any previous disney steel so I'll be picking this one up and I hope they re-release every single one with lenti. Would be great.

Here's hoping
